Hi. We're going to WDW in Nov. with another family and would like to do one character meal(and maybe the ice cream social?) The kids are dd-9, dd-6, ds-3 and the other family has dd9, ds-7 and ds-5. None of the girls are into the princesses so I'm not interested in Cindys, which place do you think would be best? I appreciate any insight!!! I'm so excited!!!

TIA, k

I'd suggest Chef Mickey's. It's a fun place, with great character interaction. Great buffet too, with good choices for kids. We had a wonderful time there! :teeth:

Another nod for Chef Mickey's!! We loved it! Excellent for children and large parties. I just booked to go in Sept with 16 people, 6 being children.

I also agree Chef Mickey's would be fun for a large group of different ages. Since it has all the classic Disney characters that most kids love to meet, it'll probably please them all.

As an alternative I'll suggest Restaurantasauraus in AK. We vacationed with two other families this past Feb. in WDW and had a ps here. All the kids delighted in meeting Donald, Mickey, Goofy and Pluto dressed up in their camp gear.

I too think Chef Mickeys would be a good choice for all of you! ::yes:: I went there one year for my birthday and I just loved it! In fact I just made a ps to eat there again in October with my friend, I can't wait!

Do they like Pooh and Friends? Because at the Crystal Palace( in the Magic Kingdom) they have Pooh and Friends at that one. I have also done this one and thought it was a lot of fun and the food was really good here too!

I would do either Liberty Tree Tavern or Garden Grill for dinner. The food is brought to the table rather than your having to go get it at a buffet (and chance missing a character). I think there is better character interaction at those dinners (as compared to Chef Mickey's). We liked the food at Garden Grill. While not fancy, it was tasty. The atmosphere is fun. We like the atmosphere at LTT alot -- old fashioned, colonial, etc. We don't care for the food as much at LTT. In any event, although many people love Chef Mickey's, we went there for breakfast and found it incredibly noisy and chaotic. We try to avoid it. Others, I know, disagree.

We're trying the ice cream social this year for the first time so I can't comment yet on that. The attraction for us is an inexpensive way to have some character interaction without the expense of a meal we may not like. Then we'll go some place we really like for dinner.

Another vote for Chef Mickeys. If you are staying on property another dinner you might want to do is the Trails End Buffet at Fort Wilderness. Its the least expensive buffet at Disney. The food is the same a the HDDR. Then after dinner go to the campfire~ they show movies outdoors, Chip & Dale are there, you can roast marshmallows and make smores. A fun inexpensive evening.
