Which Canon P & S would you get?

I currently have a Canon A530 and it has been giving me a little trouble, I keep missing great shots. So I have been thinking about getting a new camera for our upcoming trip. The models I have been looking at are:

Canon SD1200 IS
Canon SX110 IS
Canon SD780 IS

I am worried about the small size of the SD780 and SD1200. Are they hard to use? Also does the SD1200 have image stablization?

For the SX110, I have read that the time between shots is slow and I am also concerned about the flash, having to open it manually.

Any opinions on these cameras?

The speed is a relative thing. Maybe compared to another same generation camera it might be slower. You camera however is pretty old so the speed will be noticeably better. Also note that the SD series does not have very many manual controls.

All 3 have image stab - that is the IS in the name.
For speedy shots some times you need to set to manual cause auto is to slow to react.

For a fast second picture make sure you have a fast SD card to write to. 60x or 133x. If the card doesn't say the speed it's likely just 20x or worse and that will slow you down.

I have an S3IS and love it especially for the 12x zoom. The 110 has a 20X optical I think?
Depends what shots you are after and how big a camera you are willing to carry.

I had the S3 IS, then went to the SX10 IS. That is THE most amazing camera! It is really close to a DSLR.

I just bought the sx10 (not sx110). LOVE IT! I bought it to replace my Canon A95 that I bought in 2004. Love that the screen can rotate.

We have a Canon SD1100, the previous version of the SD1200. It is not a fast camera and does not have a lot of options for overriding the default settings. If I were looking for another Canon P&S it would be the G10.

I have the SX100 IS and, while it can be a little slow between shots (especially if the batteries are running down some), I love that it takes AA batteries, so ready replacements are always available when they run out (and batteries always seem to run out at the least opportune times), and IMO, having to pop the flash manually is a plus. I can't tell you how aggravating it is to have a semi-dark shot all composed and ready to shoot and then have the flash pop up on my Canon XSi because I haven't overridden flash settings. On my P&S, I never have to worry about that.

I actually just busted the lens on my P&S and want to duplicate the SX100 IS as much as possible, so I've been checking out the SX110 IS as a replacement.

I recently got the SD1200IS for $178 at Walmart and LOVE IT!! Yes, it's small, but easy to handle and it has a viewfinder (which I need because of poor eyesight), so I'm extremely happy with it. I think it's very fast from shot-to-shot, and the images are gorgeous.

I just bought the sx200is and so far I really like it. It has a 12x optical zoom and that was the biggest draw for me. Don't know if you are interested in a large zoom but since we travel a lot I love the zoom capability.
