I just read on another thread that loops 2300 and 2500 were a bit sparse. Which cabin loops are thick with vegetation? DH wants to be immersed in the woods. We will have a golf cart so we aren't worried about proximity to bus stops etc.

Thanks so much. You guys have been great. We get to FW on July 8, but we (me, DD12 and DD10) leave tomorrow (6/28) for Myrtle Beach for a dance competition. Then we will arrive at Pop on 7/4. The rest of the family (DH, DS7 and DD3) arrive on 7/8, our first day in the cabins. I'd like to request a cabin loop before we leave. How should I do that?

We just stayed in 1100 and the cabin loop behind it was very sparse as well as 1100. They had just repaved and rewired the loop and cleared it out 1100. I forgot what loop it is, but I will go and get the map and look for you. I hope that helps.

If you're looking for an isolated cabin in the woods, you may be disappointed. The cabin loops are, well, "populated." Neighbors are pretty close both next door and across the street. Still not as close as rooms in any other resort, however.

If you use this link:

You can get an idea of how many trees are present at different sites. It's an aerial view of the Fort that you can scroll around. I use it for reference all the time, just cross-reference it with a Ft Wilderness map and you can easily see which loops go where in the pictures.

I don't think anything could be of any more use if you're looking for the amount of trees present in different sites! If you click on the compass rose in the upper left you can also rotate the angle and get the images from 4 different angles, it's really cool :)

Thanks for the aerial view. It is cool.

I realize the cabins are close (not isolated). We just want the vegetation around too. We live in a flat suburb with few trees. Lots of trees is a big bonus for us.

We have stayed in several loops and found that 2200 was a great wooded loop.

Colson,

The aerial view is totally cool. My kids loved it too. It's amazing all you can see.

Thanks so much. We had so much fun playing with it.

lol, no problem! I have it on my favorites, from time to time I reference it for figuring out stuff about the Fort (yes, sometimes I spend too much time thinking about the Fort!).

It's really cool being able to see so much from all different angles. Also, sometimes we meet our parents at the Fort after they've already arrived, and this way we can get a view of what campsite they're at before we even arrive! Glad you guys had so much fun!!! :)
