Which cabana on Castaway Cay would you recommend?

Thanks for that feedback, Belleluvswdw.

My elderly mother will be with us for the cruise in Dec and I am thinking of getting a cabana. She walks, but not far. I assume they are all accessible for wheelchair access or no? Maybe this needs a new thread?

You can take the tram to the cabana drop off sight and someone can take you to it in a golf cart! The cabanas are $549.00 it's so worth it to our family of 5! Kids 3, 5,7!

My understanding is that #1 is the only accessible cabana. They do hold that for a request form a customer that needs it. If it is not taken by sailing they will let any one take it. Hope that helps!

We had #10 and LOVED the location.

We have had 9 & 10. Both are wonderful and offer picturesque views of the ship! Worth EVERY penny IMO!!!

On this note, we were thinking of trying to get an adult cabana. Since it is cheaper, can anyone tell me what it doesn't come with that the family ones do?

the only thing it doesn't have is sand toys and snorkel gear, everything else is the same!

Only #1 is accessible. It's entrance is at ground level whereas the others have a couple of steps. There is also a ramp leading to the beach out front whereas the others again have steps. Inside I've not noticed much of a difference. They may have a bit more room inside for maneuvering. We have enjoyed #4 tremendously but once were able to secure #1 on board as we asked to be put on a waiting list after boarding and no one who had booked a cabana requiring the accessibility it provides.

You can now request a cabana being concierge with the shore side concierge 150 days out... As long as you are paid in full at 120 days the reservation should show up at 120 days midnight. They will ask you for your first cabana preference and also 2 others should that not be available..

I'm interested in a cabana but wondered if my kids would feel a bit isolated? They will be 10 and 13. I'm thinking that they might be happier being in the middle of the family beach with heaps of other kids around. Any experiences?

We stayed at cabana 5 and I remember at the time thinking I wish we were a little further down the path for more private beach experience. I think in November I will request 7. I know the higher you go the further the walk to the bathroom, etc...but I think 7 based on videos will give the distance I was thinking when we went last May.

The major difference is that the cabanas on the Family Beach have a private beach, where only cabana guests can have access. It's not crowded. There is no wanting for chairs. That makes it worth it to us alone. The cabanas on Serenity Bay do not have their own private section of beach. We always rent on the Family Beach for this reason.

We've been in #7 and #8. I really don't think you can go wrong - but I preferred #8 just a teeny bit more because it was angled toward the view of the ship. Just a better photo op from inside the cabana itself. Other than that, I'd take any one I could get!

This is the view from #8. It was in the middle of the family beach and close to everything we needed:goodvibes

lymaniiii,
I don't want to dishearten you, but I am a Gold CC member. I checked in at midnight last night to try to get the accessible cabana (or any one for that matter), and all were gone. I even called at 9 am this morning - no luck. You have a better chance of getting one on the classic ships. The Dream and Fantasy have over 20 concierge cabins, plus Castaway platinum that get first crack.

Good luck… but in my opinion, it is easier to spot the chupacabra.

Sorry, important note! I should have mentioned that we are in concierge. Otherwise I wouldn't be holding my breath :)

Oh… Then you are golden!!!! Have Fun! Just note only one on the family beach is accessible. When you call 150 days out… request that one.
