We are staying at GF in December. We stayed in the past and were in the Sago Cay building. Very long walk to the "fun" pool. This time we have lagoon/pool view and want to be as close to both the pool and the main building as possible.

Any suggestions for what building we might request? Also, if you have any other helpful hints for GF, let me know. I think I would prefer to have a ground floor room as we will have baby in the stroller and would like to avoid waiting for the elevator every time. We only stayed there 3 nights before, so still don't know the resort that well.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Boca Chica is directly across from the "regular" pool and a short walk to the "fun" pool, as well as being directly across from the main building. Some of the lagoon view rooms also have a beautiful view of the Castle. Have fun!

Big Pine Key is another building option for you also. Depending on what room assignment you get, the walk would be the same from either building.

We love the GF and started vacationing there when our youngest was a baby. I love the closeness of the MK. We were able to get early starts in the morning and come back to the resort for an afternoon nap or just some down time. A hint on the transportation, the GF is the last stop before getting to the MK via the monorail, so that's your best bet going in the morning. The GF is the boats first stop on the way back. The only drawback is that we had to take the baby out and fold up the stroller to get onto the boat. The GF Cafe is a wonderful spot for breakfast or lunch. Most times of the day, it was pretty quiet there. Gasparilla's is open all the time and for fast food, I found it to be a pretty good deal. My only complaint is dinner options. You have a choice of Gasparilla's fast food, or a very upscale Citrico's or Narcoosee's. I wish the Cafe was open for dinner, but they close at 3pm. Dinner may be a good time to hop back on the monorail and check out the Contemporary or Polynesian.

If you're bottle feeding, it may be easier on you to request a refrigerator. If you need to, I highly recommend the baby care center in the MK. I was nursing at the time and they had very private and quiet rooms available. It's also a great spot for diaper duty.

The GF has music each evening in the main building. It alternates between a piano player and orchestra. I found it a great spot to relax each night.

Finally, I would recommend bringing your own stroller into the park. We used a style that had the storage underneath, a canopy top and it reclined when needed. Fairly light and easy to get around with. Plus if you're using the monorail system, you can usually wheel them right in. For some reason, those babies can get awfully heavy after a day at the parks!

Have a wonderful time.

Thanks for your help, I'm leaning toward requesting Big Pine Key.:wave2:
