We are looking into staying at Pop Century and I have a few questions.
1) Which building is closer to the food court and bus stop?
2) What are your reviews of this resort? Please give me the good the bad and the ugly.
3) What is the transportation like compared to the ASMO?
4) What are your reviews of the food court?
and finally! ( I promise!)
5) How is the layout? Is it much bigger than ASMO? I like how small that resort is but there is no availablity for our dates (Nov 27th-Dec 4th).

Thanks to everyone who responds!!!!

There is an advantage to POP with the buses. The All-Star Resorts often share buses. Pop Century does not share buses with any other resort.

1. As previously stated the 60's is the preferred building, but in May I stayed in the 50's (Lady) building and had the room right on the corner next to the stairwell and was closer to the main building than just about anyone in the 60's. It wasn't even a 2 minute walk to the food court. I could stand right outside my room and see both the bowling pin pool in the 50's and the Hippy Dippy pool in the 60's, but was far enough away that there was no pool noise. In fact because I was on the third floor right next to the stairwell and people with strolers used the elevator instead of the stairwell, I never did hear anyone go past my room. To be so close to the main building it was super quiet. Alot of the 70's building is also closer to the main building than the 60's are and the 70's are closer to the buses.

2. I really had my doubts about staying at POP, because I thought the icons were so gaudy, but I was so wrong. POP was so cute and really fun. Everyone I met (CMs as well as quests) were so friendly and just seemed happy to be there. At certain times of the day CMs will do the hustle and the twist and if you happen to be standing close will drag you in. I also loved the music playing around the pools (each decade had its' own music). Even though it was obvious I was an adult traveling alone I got three towel animals every day. The mousekeeper left them in everyone's window. Everyone around me had them. I've never got towel animals in a Deluxe, by the way. I enjoyed POP so much that I chose to take my son and D-I-L back in Sept and we chose POP over a moderate or deluxe. POP also has the icee machine in the food court which the All Stars do not. POP also has the lake with Generation Gap bridge and from some of the 50's buildings you can see some of Illuminations. Sorry, can't think of any bad.

3. I've never stayed at ASM so can't compare the buses, but know I never waited more than at the most ten minutes for a bus (this was in May by the way). Also remember that POP doesn't share buses with any other resort, like the All Stars do. The only negative about them is that their spot always seemed to be at the end of the row when you left the parks.

4. I didn't eat at the food court much, but what I did have was OK. Icees were great!

5. As far as layout I walked around one day just looking around and taking pictures and everything seemed to be really close together. With the exception if maybe the 90's nothing seemed that far from the main building and if you cut across the parking lot the 90's weren't too bad. For Sept I requested the 50's or 70's building close to the main building again.

I stayed at the 60s section because my wife loves the theming there. She liked being close to the Hippie Dippie Pool which is the main pool there. However, if you don't want to pay extra the 50s and 70s section looks just as close to Classic Hall and they also have their own pools also.

The buses were fine I never waited more then 15 minutes.

The food was decent - nothing spectacular, but they also have a lot of choices. I find the prices to be good and the atmosphere was great.

I loved this resort, in fact we are going back again this year.

Good Luck.

1. If you have young kids its worth it to pay the extra to be close to bus/food court.

2. Been to Movies and Music, like Pop the best because of buses.

3. Pop doesn't share a bus with other resorts so the buses are better.

4. Food Court is great, lots of selection.

Thanks for all the great info!! I feel this is the right resort for us!!! And I'm oof to call WDW too book our trip!!! :teeth:

Pop Century Resort Map This is the best map I've found of Pop. It's a pdf file, if you can't view it I can post a different one.

We like the 70's Big Wheel building. I won't pay $10/night for the 60's when a lot of rooms in Big Wheel are actually closer to the buses and foodcourt.
