We'd like to plan one (maybe two) during our trip in July and we're having a hard time deciding. It's just my husband and I (no kids yet,) so even though the RARE Cinderella's does have an opening during our trip, we decided it's something we'd like to save for when we have kids (can't really rationalize the $48 per person when it's a little more 'kid oriented.')

We've tried Donald's Safari Breakfast and really enjoyed it, so that's an option, but we also thought it would be nice to try something new.

Also looking at Crystal Palace, Boma, any other suggestions? We're not super 'adventurous' eaters, and my husband LOVES biscuits and gravy :rolleyes1

(Sorry, I know I spelled 1900 Park Fare wrong ;) )

Crystal Place breakfast is great!
Princess Storybook breakfast is great!

non character breakfast,

Kona or Boma,

Haven't done breakfast @ Boma, but it's one of our favorite spots for dinner, so I'm sure breakfast would be fantastic. One must-do breakfast for us is @ Cape May. Nice buffet, including a lox station, a bit more quiet & relaxed than some of the other buffets. Would have to think that 1900 PF would be great as well.

You might consider Boma's, Cape May or Ohanas. O'hanas isn't a buffet, but its all your care to eat, brought to your table and Lilo and Stitch make character appearances. If you go to Allears.net you can pull up the menu's I think biscuits and gravy is offered at the Crystal Palace in MK.

Love OHANAS at the Polynesian. It is a character meal, but they bring the food to your table family style. They have the best juice, its orange juice, guava, oh and I forgot the other, but so YUMMY...Then you get like a raisin coffecake, fruit, waffles, scrambled eggs, hash brown(potatoes, mmm, good), sausage(I think) and bacon...Plus the hotel is beautiful...I have recommended this to all my friends and havent heard a complaint yet....Personally I think its the best buffet at Disney...:thumbsup2

My first choice for a breakfast buffet would have to be Crystal Palace....three words...puffed french toast!!! Awesome!

We also like Cape May Cafe for the characters and atmosphere. 'Ohana is a great family style option too. Yummy food AND character visits to your table.....hmmm I actually might need to go back and add that to my next trip!!

Boma was super delicious and really relaxing. We had a 7:30 AM ADR because we wanted to make it for RD at Epcot, and the place was pretty empty, even when we left. It was really nice to have such a quiet, laid back meal.

There are so many options, a made to order omelet station, pastries, and delicious juice!

DH and I are sans kids also. We've done a number of the breakfasts and haven't really had a "bad" experience at any! 1900 at the Grand Floridian breakfast was fun - lots of different characters - Mad Hatter and Mary Poppins who you don't see often. (Biscuits and gravy on the buffet too :))

1. CP
2. Ohana
3. CapeMay

None Buffet Breakfast:

1. Kona
2. Wave
3.Boatwrights

WOW! So many great suggestions and LOTS to think about :) Thanks everyone!!

I totally forgot about Ohana. We had our wedding rehearsal dinner there before our Disney Wedding in 2007, so that would be a fun little blast from the past.

We'll be staying at AKL, so Boma would be easy, but the menu on allearsnet looked a little 'different' and I was worried it would be a waste of money. The main reason I loved Donald's Breakfast Safari was their juice! So yummy!!! Sounds like it's similar to what they have at Boma.

Puffed french toast at CP!?!? Oh my, that sounds so good!!

I also forgot about 1900 Park Faire. It would be nice to see some lesser seen characters. Hmm..... I'll have to share all of this with my husband tonight.

Thanks again!!! :goodvibes

Can I add a poll after the fact? Let's see....

We've done all of the breakfasts you listed and Donald's Safari Breakfast is our favorite! It's great food and the characters are wonderful too. 1900 Park Fare is a close second (love the strawberry soup), but if I had to choose, it would be Donald's.

i voted crystal palace for the atmosphere i just love the crystal palace for dinner and breakfast i think you will like crystal palace with the donalds safari breakfast a close second i have onl been to 3 of the options tho but of the 3 ide pick crystal palace anyday

I would pick Crystal Palace or Tusker House and before park opening. It is wonderful to be in the parks before they open and get some pictures without crowds all around you! :thumbsup2

I voted for CP since it is great to get into MK before the hordes of people and get pictures of the castle with no crowds. Also, the puffed french toast is great there :thumbsup2

Park Fare is great! The Madd Hatter is so funny and he cuts up alot. Also the buffet is great and they have a omlet bar where you pick the stuff and the chef makes it to order while you wait. So good!!

I voted for Crystal Palace even though we have not eaten there for breakfast....yet (have an ADR there for September). I would definitely try to get an ADR there for Pre-park opening just so you could get great pictures of the castle and Main Street before the crowds come trouncing in. We are doing this in September (have an 8:05am ADR) and I am really excited about it. I love the feeling that the park is opened just for our family, and to have the pictures to prove it is just priceless.

The other suggestion I have is Cape May Cafe at the BC. This is one of my family's favorite character breakfast. It is such a relaxing atmosphere there because you don't feel rushed and the character interaction is just awesome. The food there is also very good...it is always hot and fresh. Unfortunately we are not doing this on our upcoming trip only because we wanted to try other places, but I know our family will be missing it and will return again.

Oh, wow! CP is running away with it right now. Although, there have been so many great suggestions, we may just have to go to more than one :lmao:

To those of you that mentioned doing them early, before park opening, I totally agree :thumbsup2 We did the Keys to the Kingdom tour in the MK before park opening and it was WONDERFUL to experience that emptiness. Actually, we did a MK photo shoot for our wedding at 5:00am, now that was REALLY no one :) So awesome :goodvibes

We like Boma and Cape May. While Crystal Palace has good food, I am not a fan of the hectic experience. I don't mind buffets, but I don't like feeling like I'm fighting to get my food. Crystal Palace was like that for us. I didn't want to get up to get a second plate to try more things because it was so hard getting the first plate!

Boma and Cape May were nothing like that. Tasty, well-prepared food in a relaxing environment. Even though Cape May is a character buffet, it is not frantic like some of them can be. The characters can take their time with you. No rush, and no fighting for food.
