I've just booked our next trip, woohoo!!!

When we stayed at the Cheyenne I remember people here saying that certain blocks were better to request than others but I can't now remember what these blocks were! Would you go for a block near the closest exit to the river walk to the park? (less walking for tired kiddie's legs!) If so, which blocks would they be, does anybody know? Or if I could find a map of the blocks then I could choose...

Thanks in advance!

Last year we stayed in blcok 20 'Wild bill hickok'. the block was very close to everything but we were never kept awake by any noise or anything. we were in a ground floor room and had a fab veiw of the 'cowboy western street', was excellent. :goodvibes

They now charge extra for the rooms that are in a better location. I suppose you might be able to blag them at check in if the hotel is under occupied.

The ones near the river are called Rio Grande rooms. The ones near reception/Chuck Wagon etc.. are called Buffalo rooms.

They normally cost about £10 extra per room per night.

Wow, what a cheek at them charging extra for those blocks!! I guess we will just take whatever we're given then :)

On our first visit we were in Soaring Eagle which is almost the furthest from the Parks. It was a very quiet block with a lovely walk along the river to get to Disney Village.

Our second visit we were the complete opposite in Sundance. It is located right next to the overpass but the vehicle traffic was very sporadic and didn't disturb us. It was Summer when we went the second time and we had to have the windows open and we heard what sounded like band practise in the mornings. Not loud enough to disturb us though.

Our third visit we were in Annie Oakley which is pretty central. Again it was quiet.

Even from the furthest blocks it isn't far to the central area or to walk to the Parks. The Hotel Information says it is about 15 minutes to walk which is about right. I think it really doesn't matter which block you get they are all great!!!

We were in Annie Oakley and had a missing front door on the building. It was very cold in the room one day because of the way teh wind was blowing and we were pretty much at the top of the stairs at the entrance. I'd imagine they've fixed it since May....

We have stayed twice in Billy the Kid and i can remember it was close to the Kids Playground and it was a little noisy when kids where there but obviously not at nights when kids were sleeping :rotfl:

We just got back and they were fixing the door to Annie Oakley! unless it broke again that's a long time to leave it broken...

We booked a standard room and I phoned the hotel 5 days before we went(I read on here that's the best time) I asked for 'running bear' (block 11) and he said that was fine, we got a room almost at the end of the corridor(1140) and as there's a door there(I think its a fire exit but it was unlocked) we were basically in the closest room to the parks!!

Also the room was in good shape(it had new flat screen TV, Santa Fe didn't have that when we went last December) and very clean.

our room had a lcd tv too, it was meant to have disney channel uk but all we got on this channel was skys information channel

Yeah we had the same problem, didn't get much time to watch TV so didn't bother us!

no true we didnt get much time other than for dd to watch as we got read for bed and breakfast etc

Just got back from Cheyenne in the Jesse James building - was really great - close to the main block for breakfast etc and also close to the bus stop.

Was really impressed with whole hotel and rooms, looks even better in real life than in pictures!

Do any of you guys that have been recently have pics to share of the re-furbed rooms with new TVs etc? Would be great to see ahead of our trip :goodvibes

I didn't notice any refurbishment apart from the LCD TV, in fact some of the tiles under the bath were on their final notice and are probably on the floor by now!

Oh I see - sorry I misunderstood, but thanks anyway! Ah well still as excited as ever :goodvibes

Hi have all the rooms got a double bed and bunk beds in the Cheyenne? Or can you get a room without bunk beds?
