Which Beach Tour? Whale Watching?

I realize this probably belongs elsewhere, but I've tried asking there and I'm not getting any replies. Maybe this section gets more traffic.

Has anyone done the OC Woody Beach Bus Tour or the OC Wildlife Tour? Can you share your experience if you have? I've checked Tripadvisor and searched, and cannot find much info on either. I've tried emailing one of the companies and didn't get a reply either. Ideally we would like to see some beaches and do a whale watching tour, but I'm not sure we would be able to do that. We will not have a rental car, so we would rely on the tour bus/van to get us to each spot.

Thanks!

Nancy, we did a whale watching trip last year out of Newport Beach. It was called Newport Landing Whale Watching and it was great. I bought the tickets on LivingSocial (which is like GroupOn) and there were only $15 each. The regular price is $30.00.

The Blue whales were running last summer and we saw lots of them. It is a 2.5 hour trip on the ocean and it was gorgeous, as well as super interesting to see the blue whales and lots of other sea life too. It was a really fun afternoon.

I would have no problem recommending this tour to others.

Thanks for the Whale Watching recommendation! I'll look into that for sure. I just wonder how it would work with a beach tour. I'll have to ask the tour people.

LuvindisCruiser, oooooh, definitely report back after the tour!

We did the whale watching during our stay at DL. It was AWESOME! We followed the recommendations here:. We took Prime Time Shuttle from DL to Long Beach and did the aquarium, whale watching and dinner and then Prime Time back. It was a really great day. The big highlight was the whale watching though. This is a very nice aquarium, but if you have an aquarium near where you live, you could probably skip that.

Interesting! I hadn't thought of taking a shuttle to Long Beach and going whale watching from there. That could work, but I think we would like to try a beach tour if possible. If it isn't possible, that is definitely a good back up plan. Thank you for sharing that.
