I was thinking about posting the same poll!

We're going for the $5 off, since we aren't planning another trip until the fall (well, I did have BC reservations for Memorial Day, just in case they weren't selling BCV in MI yet, but I'll probably cancel that). This fall, we'll use our points for BCV.

It is hard, though, to turn down that "free" extra trip.

I think I would take the free days, especially if they would let you choose the weekend for the free ones and use my points for the weekdays.

I am not real flexable with my vacation days and we, just like Grotto, have BC ressies for 9/30 - 10-12 which I will probably cancel and use points for. I discussed with my guide on the possibility of using the free days for this vacation and he said to be careful since I already have my plane reservations I have to go those days and there is a limited number of rooms for this offer. He mentioned once you take the free days deal there is no going back, and if you find out there is no rooms available you pretty much loose them.

I decided it would be better for us to take the $5 off ppt.

I would like to take the free vacations but I am a little worried about using them before July 2003. We are thinking about buying 260 points (first time buyers) so we would get a 7 night and a 3 night. Might use the 3 night in May as we have a 6 night vacation planned and keep the 7 night for next spring when my daughter is on spring break. Hopefully, her spring break won't be over Easter like it is this year. Do you think it will be a big problem getting the dates you want?

Does anyone know at what point you can book your reservation for the "free" trip?

It seems like the free trip could work out well, esp. if you plan to go during a point expensive time (April, weekends, etc...)

We plan on taking the $5 off. With two teens..boy /13 :earsboy and girl./15 earsgirl: :
we are so spoiled with the room that a two bedroom gives us/them .

If I buy, I will use the $5 per point off my downpayment. I don't really see the "free vacation" as free. IMO, it costs the amount that you are losing on your downpayment.

If you purchase 100- 149 points you get 3 nights stay, 150-199 a 5 night and 200 a 7 night stay. Your 3 night stay would cost between $500 and $745 (or $166- $248 per night), your 5 night stay would cost between $750 and $995 (or $150 - $199 per night) and your 7 night stay would cost at least $1000 (or $142 per night). While the $166, $150 and $142 are great prices for resorts like the Poly, it's still not free ... especially when you're paying $7,500, $11,250 & $15,000 respecively for the timeshare!
