Which All-Star resort is the best?

My husband has finally decided that we can stay stay on-site (after many, many trips off-site) and I want to make sure that I pick a good resort.

I'm sure that the three resorts are very similar, but I was just wondering if there were any differences which would make one preferable over the others.

Which resort has the best transportation? I think I remember reading that one of the resorts is the first to be picked up AND the first to be dropped off on the bus loop. Is this true?

Is there one resort that tends to be less crowded? Do the sports and cheerleading groups tend to prefer a certain resort? It will be just my husband and me (no kids) going the week after Labor Day, and we would like to try to avoid these types of groups.

Are the food courts different?

Are there any other hints, tips or suggestions that would help us decide between the three?

Thanks in advance.

We've stayed at the Movies twice now, both times were the week AFTER Thanksgiving.

We really enjoyed our stays - once was in the Love Bug section, and the other time was 101 Dalmations. Both rooms were very quiet and a short walk to the Food court/Bus stop. Bus service was excellent! A few times we went to one of the other hotels to pick up guests, but most of the time, we went straight to the parks. And we always went straight back to the hotel.

We ate at the food court a few times - although its busy, we were always able to find a table. Food was pretty good. We also got the pizza delivered to the room one time and it was good (a little high, but good!).

The difference in the hotels is the theming! My youngest DD loves the giant icons of the Disney characters!

I noticed yall were from New Orleans - we're from Bush - right outside of Covington!

Hey neighbor. I sure do know where Bush is--can we say "House of Seafood".

Thanks for the answer. I am really concerned about the busses. My husband is really going to regret he said we could stay on-site if the busses are over crowded and we have long waits. So I'm trying to do as much research as I can to make sure the bus issue is a non-issue.

We live in Whippoorwill Grove subdivision, which is about 2 miles from "House of Seafood"! Usually when we say we're from Bush - if you mention House of Seafood, everybody knows where that is!

Hope yall enjoy your stay - I wouldn't be concerned about the busses. Now, there were some trips when we were crowded - standing room only - especially at the end of the day. But, it wasn't bad - and we did get to go straight to our resort.

Is the Food Court at ASMo different than ASMu or ASSp because it is a newer resort? Are there more young kids at ASMo than ASMu? Thanks.

We always have had good bus service, but we go in Sept/Oct. Sometimes it is standing room only or you can wait til the next bus (they come often). As far as kids, they are at all the AS, probably the same. Food Courts the same (we really like it, NOT the pizza though and it was too expensive!). The themes are good at all of them, my daughter's a Dalmatian fan, so we like Movies best. The buses usually drop ASMo off last, but it is usually very fast.

I've stayed at all three and I prefer Music. It just seems a little quieter and the icons are a little more adult oriented. I really like all three though and would stay at any one. It all depends on the discount. :D

Unless you are going over Easter or Christmas I wouldn't worry about the busses. They are very efficient and the best of any resort we've used. They will sometimes stop at all the AS, but it doesn't take but a few minutes longer.

we have stayed at the ASMu twice and loved it. we stayed in the calypso section on both occasions(closest building to the main pool and food court) and really loved it. I think they charge extra to stay in that building now because soo many people were requesting it. The bus service to the all-stars has always been very good when we've stayed there. Alot depends on timing; sometimes you walk up at just the right time and don't wait, sometimes you wait a few minutes. never overly long at any time though. I think all the all-stars have a similiar feel to them. In fact, we have stayed in all levels(Value, moderates, deluxe) and the difference in the rooms between the three levels is not all that exagerated IMHO. stay at the any of the all-stars with confidence.

We've (myself and 18 year old DD) stayed at Music and Movies. I have to say that overall we preferred music. The buses always stopped at sports first - the same for drop-off. Bus transportation is much better at either of these than when we stayed at boardwalk. Food court at movies was newer looking but much more crowded! We thought we would try sports next so we could compare all three. I think you should pick the resort with the theme you would enjoy!
