if we stay at DL or good neighbor - just wondering which airport is easier?

I know Orange Co is closer, but are there benefits to LAX?

I am getting cheaper flights to LAX, but I would pay more for Orange Co if there is more convenience and less headache

I believe that the only benefit of LAX is that it is cheaper. OC (a.k.a SNA) is smaller and easier and closer. If you don't mind the extra cost, I would go with SNA and avoid LAX.

Ditto! LavendarPeach is right. We have flown into both on our way to DL and if the cost wasn't so prohibitive for us, we'd fly into SNA (Orange Co, John Wayne) every time. It is much smaller, less of a headache with security, much less walking and a nice airport with eating places and snacks available. I'd choose SNA!!!

Have a great time!

Why not check out LGB ~ I haven't used SNA, I always get a better deal with LGB even over LAX. It's super close to DLR and a small easy to navigate airport.

I would think it all depends on your budget and if you put a price on convenience. I'm flying into Santa Ana since the cost over LAX and Long Beach was about $15 which for two tickets comes up to an extra $30. I saw really inexpensive tickets flying into Burbank but a globe trotting co-worker laughed at me when I suggested it.

$30 is a lot of money to some but I count that as time saved which to me is well worth it. :drive:

To each his own I guess.

Check out Long Beach, we love it! Only about 20-25 min from Disneyland. I have never flown into SNA because it has always been WAY more for me (from SLC)

I love SNA and would fly in there everytime if I could but unfortunately from my city there are no direct flights, if you can get one I would fly there, LAX is a zoo.

From Pittsburgh, I can get a non-stop to LAX, I would have to connect to SNA. So if I can get a non-stop, it's worth the extra transporation time. I used the Disneyland Express last month, it look less than an hour. If I can't get a non-stop, then I'll connect to SNA, providing the prices are close.

LAX was half the price as SNA was when I was pricing out our upcoming trip which is no small thing. If the prices were a little closer, I would choose SNA but not when they are that drastically different.

Wait. Let me get this straight. You have a connection in Santa Ana? Why not just land there? :confused3

I guess I just live in the right city. I usually fly Frontier and connect in Denver. It's rarely more than $10 more for the closer airport. What a bummer. :sad2:

She was saying that she can get a direct flight to LAX, but she would have to have a connection somewhere if she tried to fly into SNA. :) I had to read it a couple times, LOL.

Transportation costs are lower from SNA, which is something to consider if you're ever in a situation where the prices are fairly close.

We have actually had quite nice experiences with LAX, so we don't really mind it at all. We just need to leave on time next time, so we're not running to our gate.

This is a good point. I can sometimes get a great rate from JetBlue into Long Beach, which is roughly the same distance from DL and a nice, easy airport. However, it costs significantly more to get to the hotel if your party is small, so the savings disappear and I've found that it usually ends up costing more. The same is true for LAX--the cost is higher for a transportation service and it takes longer. If you're renting a car, this would not really be a factor, I guess.

As an example of what I mean, it costs me $7 each way to take supershuttle from SNA to DL. A taxi is about $45. From Long Beach, supershuttle is $33 + $9 per person after that, and a taxi is around $48. For me, that would mean my airfare would have to be $52+ cheaper to break even, which is a lot when you're talking about my route (generally about $120-150 RT).
