Is this too much? Our boys (5 and 2) love music and dancing and interaction but I've read plenty of people's feedback about having to wait forever at certain character meals. Thoughts?

Friday, Arrival day: Mickey's Backyard BBQ with the ILs (was thinking maybe we should cancel this and opt for the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage instead, then can cancel the SW and Wishes dessert parties).
Saturday: Lunch at Crystal Palace, Star Wars Dessert Party at HS at night
Sunday: H&V lunch with Disney Jr characters
Monday: Garden Grill breakfast, Pre-RD at EP
Tuesday: 4pm dinner (or late lunch, ha) at La Hacienda at EP
Wednesday: BOG Pre-RD at MK
Thursday: late breakfast at Tusker House at AK
Friday: BOG lunch then Wishes dessert party on Terrace
Saturday, departure day: Late breakfast at Ohana

I don't think it's too much. You have a lot of our favorites! You do have a lot of character meals, but they are (mostly) all different characters. If your kids enjoy characters this is a great way to meet them without spending a ton of time in lines.

What time do you arrive on arrival day? If you are delayed you will pay full price for the Pirates and Pals cruise if you miss it. Normally I think ADR's on arrival day are risky. We never book one less than 5 hours after scheduled arrival.
That said, I think it is a really good plan for your family to do this and cancel the dessert parties. I believe they will be too late for a 2 year old and a 5 year old. It is good advice to try and keep little ones as close to a home schedule as possible at WDW. It is so stimulating that even with a nap it is a lot for little one.
When are you going? H & V changes from Disney Jr characters in May to Minnies Seasonal Dine. I think the Disney Jr characters would be great for you family, if you are there before the switchover.

I'd get rid of Chrystal palace unless your kids must see pooh tigger eyore and piglet. It's really loud and the food isn't that good

Enjoy it...they're not that young forever! However, I will agree with Dumbo that CP food is sub-par.

@Hopefully we land at noon and we're staying at AoA. I figured that gave us plenty of time for the Pirates and Pals cruise, which seems more appealing than the other two dessert parties. I wish I knew about this beforehand. I just read about it in another thread and I hope there is still space for us. When I called earlier, the lady said systems were down and I have to call back again this evening.

@sharkyandbones and @Dumbo7 thank you! I am happy to drop it if the food isn't that good. I've just read so many people rave about CP that I didn't want to miss out when the kids are this young.

Crystal Palace wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. If you're thinking of dropping something, I'd drop CP. Some of our favorites are the others you have listed!

We loved crystal palace, but it was breakfast. It's one my kids want to do again this year.

Honestly, Id keep them all :) They are very similar to everything I do...minus the Star Wars..not a fan! To me the dessert parties are not really worth it either. Im so full from dinner, I barely eat anything.

Wow! Great line up! Your kids are going to love those character meals! If I had two kids age 5 and 2 I would keep em all. Eventually they get to the age where all they wanna do is text and play video games so I say live it to the fullest while you can!!

I agree that CP isn't the best food wise, but, the restaurant is beautiful and Piglet. Do it for Piglet.
