Which 2TS Credit Restaurant would you recommend?

Whether it is "worth it" to use 2 dining plan credits at a signature restaurant is subjective. In the past, there were a few options, like the surf & turf at Narcoossee's (no longer available on the dining plan) that weren't a bad use of 2 credits from a financial perspective. I haven't seen a breakdown recently, but a single table service dining plan credit is "worth" about $45, so $90 for 2. If you go to Yachtsman and get the lobster or Kansas City strip, a drink and the most expensive dessert it would cost about $80 plus tax out of pocket, so close to $90 total and not a terrible use of two credits. But if you go and get the pasta or chicken plus dessert and a drink that would only cost about $45 plus tax out of pocket, and that isn't a good use of two credits. You used to be able to get the cheese plate for dessert at Yachtsman and that was almost $20, so it added to the value if you got that, but appears to no longer be listed as a dessert. I think the food is higher quality at a signature restaurant, the service usually better, and the atmosphere often more relaxing. We are going in November and we'll be on the dining plan and will eat at one signature because we've enjoyed our meals at signatures when we've gone.

When you dine at a signature restaurant using 2 TS credits, what is included (app, entree, dessert and drink?)?

Many people here say that using 2 TS credits on a sig restaurant is a waste of money, but I'm guessing that mainly depends upon what you order...any comments/suggestions?

Does anyone know which menu items from Yachtsman are excluded from the dining plan?

Is the lobster at Yachtsman included?

Thanks for any comments!
You do get the app/entree/dessert/non-alcoholic drink aspect if you're on the deluxe plan. As others have said, "worth" depends on your view of such matters. To some, not having to worry about diving into one's wallet after each meal is worth it, even if the meal "value" might not be as high as some others. Dining at a favorite spot also makes it worthwhile to some. However, it is a good rule of thumb to look at the value of the meals beforehand to see if you're maxing out your money, so to speak. Have fun choosing!

We love Narcoossee's - it's near and dear to us.

The dinner at Artist Point two years ago was fantastic, but it is a bit more rustic and some may not enjoy the menu. We finally tried Yachtsman this year and it was on point. My sister and I split the Porterhouse and it was the best steak we've ever had.

I've eaten at most of the signatures multipe times with some amount of variation between visits (that being said, I generally find the signatures to be more consistent than non-signautres).

If I had to average out all my visits, my top 3 would probably be Jiko, Flying Fish (although I haven't been since the refurb), and Artist Point.

Citricos would also be in the upper tier.

Cali Grill was also up there before the refurb, but it's gone down a bit in my book since.

Narcoossee's is solid but not spectacular.

I've never been wowed over by the overall dining experience at Yachtsman (although I've enjoyed parts of the experience). Something about the decor just seems off and I've always been disappointed with some aspect of the meal. It's still, however, light years better than Le Cellier, IMO, as steak places go (outside of the filet, I don't find anything about Le Cellier to be signature worthy).

Brown Derby is another one where I've never been that wowed over. Food and service, while generally decent, is not at the same level as any resort signature IMO (we go mostly for the Fantasmic! package and I like the restaurant decor). Still better than Le Cellier, however.

I've never done any of the Disney Springs signatures. Also haven't yet been to Monsieur Paul or Tiffins (but have ADRs for both of these scheduled for my next trip). Generally, I'm of the opinion that resort signatures are superior to park signatures so we'll see how well that opinion holds up.

As dinner shows go, we really like HDDR (haven't done the others). It's not signature quality food by any stretch (and, for that matter, not at all the same kind of experience as signature dining) but it is all you can eat family style and we think the overall experience is just super fun (it's something where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts).

CRT is all about eating in the castle with princesses. Nothing about the food or service there is impressive.

As far as dining plan use goes, I probably wouldn't want to use regular dining plan credits on a signature meal (just uses up too many precious TS credits and they don't include appetizers). But on the DxDP (where you have 3 TS credits per day and appetizers are included), signatures are a must.

I agree that resort signatures generally are superior to those in the parks. In particular, our meal at MP last year was simply of poor quality and experience. BD is fine, as you say, but more like a bit better than average TS.

I've eaten at many of the signatures, including recently at Yachtsman and Flying Fish. Flying Fish was hands-down my favorite. Excellent meal, excellent service and felt very "adult" for a Disney restaurant. (I love kids, but if I'm paying that much for a meal, I like a quieter meal and to dress up. That's why Cali Grill has disappointed us lately.)

What you get is based on your plan. The deluxe plan includes an app, but the regular plan does not.

Using some back-of-a-napkin math, you need to get $37 of value out of a regular TS credit, or about $32 for a deluxe credit. Double that for a signature.

Another fan of Yachtsman. The sides that are listed separately from those served with entrees are large enough to share. And now I'm drooling thinking about their creamed spinach lol.

Yeah, when I estimated $45 per table service credit I think that was too high. Your $37 estimate seems a lot closer to accurate.

Our favorite go to is Narcoossee's. There is always great food, wonderful atmosphere and great service. That being said we ate at Jiko one time and had a fantastic meal and the best server we have ever had on Disney property. In fact as I type this I am wondering why we are not eating a meal there this trip, other than my now recently married son has asked to take his bride to Narcoossee's. The tradition continues.

Sorry for kind of taking the original post in a new direction, but thank you to all for your comments regarding "worth it".

I remember reading something about $37 be the approx "worth" of a TS credit as well, so if we got the lobster and the most expensive steak allowed (whatever that may be) at Yachtsman, and you add on the dessert and beverage, that would put us just a little bit over $74 (2x37).

I'm a fan of the Dining plan, but obviously only if it saves us money!

My favorite 2 credit upscale restaurant is Artist's Point. CA Grill is a close second.

My favorite 2 credit overall in WDW is actually the Hoop De Doo Revue

We ate at Artist Point for the first time last year... absolutely wonderful! Service was fantastic, we weren't rushed, the atmosphere is calming and the food... superb! We love Yachtsman also but it's a busier atmosphere at times... very good though!

Has anyone tried California Grill or Citrico recently?
Wondering of the experience and the fireworks viewing.

We were there in October. California Grill still has viewing of Wishes from the balcony with the music, it was lovely! Citricos was a fabulous meal but we didn't have a great view of the fireworks.
