Hi Everyone,

We are planning to spend 8 days in a 2Bdr "dedicated" at our home resort at the Vwl in late July into early Aug. Please could you give us suggestion for which room number. We like nearly all others are looking for a poolview.

Any suggestions welcome.

I will have to check into my stuff from our stay last year!! We had a great view overlooking the pool.

I believe it was on the 4th floor just as you exited the elevators and took a left ...........

I'll get back to you as soon as I find the information!

Glad to see you back from the war!! Hope to see you and Mary an Rachel this summer again.......

If you request a specific room and it's not available, you might not get anything that is close to what you want. Try smoking/non-smoking, handicap/non-handicap, floor or view.

If I had to hand-pick our room, from any offered, I would have picked EXACTLY the one they gave us: 4507. Great 2Br on the 4th floor, not too far down the hall from elevator, with a view of the pool and the bay. We could see the electrical parade every night it was out there during our 10 day stay last August! :)

My requests were: non-smoking, non-handicapped, pool/bay view, near elevator. I was most intent on the non-handicapped b/c we have small children, and I would like to leave VWL still standing when we leave, not burned down to the ground b/c they messed with stove controls and such at their eye level!! (Call me paranoid, but we had 4 kids under age 8 in that room! It could happen!)

As for my elevator request, I had heard that the infamous "dumpster views" were way far away from the 'vator.

There was another 2br right beside us -- it looked good too, but I can't recall if it was 4509 or 4511!

I would think the ones under us (i.e., 3507) would be good too, but you might not get as nice a view of the bay, though.

Of course, I just think VWL is awesome in every way, so how can you possibly go wrong? Nonetheless, good luck!

We stayed in room 3519 and it is a fabulous room. If you look at the picture of the Villas at Wilderness Lodge in the Member guidebook, you will notice the corner of the building with a stone face. The third balcony from the top was ours and that room was our living room. The room to the right was the master bedroom and the room to the left was the second bedroom. Because of all the corners we had 8 windows with a fantastic view of the pool area. The windows made for an exceptionally bright room for the VWL. Rather than face a narrow corridor, our door opened on to the open area above the grand lobby on the first floor, and it was a short walk to the elevators. I assume the rooms above and below this one are similar.

This said there are many nice rooms at VWL, and we always consider ourselves lucky just to be staying there. I hope you have a great trip.

I cut & pasted my response to a previous thread. This is not a pool view, however it is a great view!

Room 5553 has an AWESOME view. The only problem is that it is a dedicated 2br, but perhaps a 1br near that one would be about the same view. You can look out of the bedroom or living room and see beautiful trees that had a perfectly carved out 'V' where you can look through and see the lake. The view of the trees and lake appeared to be totally uninhabited.... 'No boats, no lights no motor cars, not a single luxury....'

This may be too much information for some, but taking a shower with the bathroom door open, looking through the shower glass and the bedroom window, you would swear you are taking a shower outside in the wilderness!

Enjoy VWL......

We had this room in July and its a wonderful location. I believe 4511 is also a dedicated two bedroom with the same view. Overlooks the DVC pool and you can see the lake from the balcony.
