My family is traveling to Florida middle of August. We are from Minnesota. We have been to Florida in August so we know about the heat and yes the humidity in Florida. We will be coming to Disney after a 4 night beach trip. There are 7 of us. its my sister, my 24 old neice, my boys (16 and 18), my 21 year old daughter and her best friend and me. We are looking for a nice resort and will have resort time in the afternoons and probably a morning. We are staying 5 nights. Would you choose Animal Kingdom Savanna view, Copper Creek or Riviera Standard view? All are about the same price and all are 2 bedrooms. We love all the parks. This will probably be our last trip all together for a long time. My kids and neice are getting very busy with college. Need advice?

Animal Kingdom Savanna view - not only will you have 3 full bathrooms, you'll enjoy the view from your balcony in the afternoons and mornings you're there. Copper Creek will be the smallest of the three and only have two bathrooms; Riviera will be gorgeous but again have only two bathrooms.

I am biased but I would go with Riviera. Easier access to two parks, especially into Epcot for food and drinks.

Murphy bed in living room vs pull out couch. Wonderful QS and easy walk to CBR for additional food options.

Kidani Village at AKV has bed space for nine in a two bedroom. The living room has a twin sized sleeper chair and a queen sized sleeper sofa. Plus the king bed in the master. If the villa is dedicated, it will have two queen beds in the second bedroom. If a lockoff, it will have one queen bed and one double sleeper sofa in the second bedroom. Kidani has the extra bathroom at the entrance to the villa. Jambo House won't have the third bathroom in the two bedroom.

Ditto.

The OP has a lot of young adults (or almost adults). The third bathroom is going to be a big help.

So are the 2 foldout beds in the living room.

Besides, with a Savanna view, they get to see this every day!

By the way, it occurs to me that we are assuming AKV Kidani Village.

The 2-bedroom at Jambo House does not have a third bathroom. If it’s a room at Jambo House, that changes a lot. The decision becomes more complex.

We have stayed in 2-bedrooms at all 4 resorts (Kidani, Jambo, WL, and Riviera).

I’m not a big fan of the Skyliner at the Riviera. I’ve gotten stuck in crazy long lines and even been in line to board only to have it close due to lightning. The 2 pools are nice but a bit generic. (One of the complaints I’ve read about the Riviera in general.). Still, it’s a really nice resort if you are not into the over-the-top theming at most Disney Resorts.

The Wilderness Lodge and Jambo House both have wonderful theming and pools. We particularly enjoy dining outdoors at WL’s Geyser Point. Deck space is a bit tight at WL. The pool at Jambo House is massive, with lots of deck space.

If it’s open, Boma at Jambo House is, IMO, the best buffet at all of WDW. Lots of standard and exotic food options, a selection to satisfy most foodies.

If it is between Jambo, Riviera, and CCV, I don’t think I could make a choice of which of the three is the best.

In the OP’s case, it sounds like there are lots of teens and adults. A third bathroom and 2 fold outs in the living room would really help in that situation, which is why I originally suggested Kidani.

Can I throw another option into the mix? Bay Lake Tower. It has a 3rd bathroom like Kidani and is walkable to MK. You can also catch the monorail to get to 2 other resorts (the Poly station should be open by that point). If you wanted to go to Wilderness Lodge, you could just walk over to the MK boat launch and take one over if the boats aren't going to/from the Contemporary to WL at that point.

It would be a 2 br savanna view at Kidani.

I would love that but I didnt see any availability for a 2 br at Bay Lake tower.

BLT would have been a great option for the OP because of the third bathroom.

I will also have the mini van or SUV we rent to get to the ocean so getting to the parks will be easy no matter which one we stay at. I still like the idea of staying on site as the kids can catch up with us if there is a straggler or stragglers or come back later than us if they want to stay in the park. I have to admit that the beautiful cheerfullness of the riviera rooms appeals to me, but I prefer the actual outdoor beauty of the other 2. Who has the best options for a bite to eat? I guess we will have a fully stocked fridge but i'm curious about the food options, after all who wants to cook every meal on vacation? Not me.

Just an FYI - Epcot monorail is not in operation and I don’t think a reopen date has been announced.

AKL food options are unparalleled IMO. But that was prepandemic. Not sure what will be open in August.
Riviera QS was also excellent. I’ve heard good things about Topolinos but pricy. Sad to say I’ve never been to Copper Creek, nor can I name any of the food options there.
My vote would be for Kidani 2BR.

AK for sure. August has many thunderstorms, when they show up the Skyway closes. If your at RIV, you will be stuck if you're unlucky enough to be on it or in for a very long wait for the bus to start running in it's place.

This happened to us when we stayed at the Riviera in September.

It sucked. We had to exit the Skyliner line and hike over to the bus stop in a torrential downpour.

Riviera for the location and Murphy bed. That way it will be more comfortable and easier to deploy and put away. Additionally, the living room is bigger and will have more room for everyone to hang out in.
