Tanz - Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! I hope you are having a wonderful, relaxing time. I am bumping you so I can read your last update AND see pics when I get home tonight!

Thank you everyone! Hope you all had a great Christmas and are enjoying the New Year. Can't believe the holidays are over already!

Sorry I haven't been on here much lately. I've been busy with the holidays and have been searching for a new job as I really want to try and secure something pretty soon. Anyway I hope to have an update posted in the next couple of days - just need to sort through the rest of my pics and get them uploaded. I hope you will all still be reading along.

In the meantime I have a lot of catching up to do so am off to read your PTRs/TRs :goodvibes

Hi Tanz! Sorry I haven't been commenting lately. With school and all... DisTime has dramatically dropped, but I have a long week of vacation so I found time to catch up. I'm really enjoying what I've had to catch up on. I love reading about first timers' experiences and you are doing SOOO much. I'm sorry to hear you didn't get to go to WWoHP. :( Always next time and I'm sorry you didn't get to do as much as you wanted to at MNSSHP and you really should've sung along to all the villains songs in your video of HalloWishes... just saying...

Well, I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Hi Timmy! I totally understand about DIS taking a backseat as have not been on here much myself lately. I've been searching for a new job and catching up with stuff that I've been putting off doing! I'm happy that you are enjoying hearing about my first time experiences. I was a bit upset about missing out on WWoHP especially after I keep seeing the adverts on the television :( Yeah there is always next time. Lol you seriously do not want to hear my singing voice! It is awful :lmao:

Hope you had a great Christmas and enjoyed the holidays.

 I just had the chance to read your update about MNSSP. I am so sorry that Zaheer was a party pooper! Your pictures turned out cute and I am happy that you did get to experience the details of the party that make it special...the trick or treating, parade, fireworks and the seven dwarves!:wizard:

Aaw thanks...yeah I was a bit sad to not to get to enjoy the party as much as I had hoped to but it was still worth it. I loved seeing the things I did get to see and at least I still got to wear my party outfit ;)

Your party outfit is adorable. So sorry that Zaheer wasn't into the party. I love this party, much better than the Xmas party. Too bad you didn't ride BTMMR at night. I love that ride.

I still love all your pictures, especially the castle pics. Nice!

Thanks...I am bummed that I never got to ride BTMRR at night especially as everyone says that it is a totally different experience in the dark. Oh well...another thing to add to the wish list for a future trip ;)

Thanks...am glad you love the pics!

Hi everyone! I hope you all enjoyed the holiday season and are having a great new year! :goodvibes

So carrying on from where I left off...

This is the day where I woke up late - think the long days and jet lag was finally catching up with me! I rushed to get ready and got a bus to AK fairly easily. We actually got to AK for 10am but bag check took FOREVER! I swear the person knew we had a reservation at Tusker House and was doing it on purpose. We ran to Tusker House and got there for 10.30am. We had our picture taken with Donald Duck and got seated.

666-2.jpg
667-1.jpg

This was a meal I was looking forward to but we were rushed which I think was a result of having a late reservation. I only met Mickey Mouse and Goofy.

669-2.jpg
673-2.jpg

I really wanted to meet Daisy as had not seen her anywhere yet. A CM said she'd get her for me but she must have changed as the CM returned with a map informing me it was not possible for Daisy to meet me however I could see her at Camp Minnie-Mickey. I did however get an autograph.

Although I was disappointed with the service and character meets the food was pretty good and I enjoyed everything I ate including Krispy Kreme doghnuts!

671-2.jpg

We settled the bill and headed to Rafiki's Planet Watch. I loved this area and meeting Jiminy Cricket as well as Pocahontas. Rafiki wasn't out until later in the day so we didn't get to meet him.

679-1.jpg
686-1.jpg

Zaheer loved hearing about the animals and being allowed to pet them. I think if it had been up to him he would have spent the rest of the day here.

684-1.jpg

I love this pic of me with the cut out gorilla and the fact that it is bigger than me!

680-1.jpg

After returning via the train we headed to Camp Minnie-Mickey to watch FOTLK. We were sat in the Lions section and LOVED this show so much - it was AMAZING! I'm glad I wasn't in the other sections though as the animal noises were wierd.

We didn't take many pics of the show as the battery on the camera was dying.

691-1.jpg
IMG_0012-1.jpg

After FOTLK we actually got to meet Rafiki before leaving Camp Minnie-Mickey - the lines for everyone else were too long and the heat was getting to us a little. I should explain that today was a Saturday and we noticed the difference in the crowds compared to our last visit on a non-weekend day.

IMG_0028-1.jpg

We went to Dinoland and rode Dinosaur again. This time I am proud to announce that I did keep my eyes open throughout the ride!!! It actually wasn't scary at all - lol it helps when you know what to expect!

692-1.jpg

We tried to get on Primeval Whirl but it was closed. We headed to Asia so I could ride EE on my own! I was soo scared and not sure what to expect. I used the Single Riders line so sadly did not get to enjoy the queue. I loved the ride but was holding on for dear life all the way throughout as well as SCREAMING my head off!! There were two boys in front of me about 10 yrs old and they had their hands up the whole time and were putting me to shame! Zaheer took the red neck photo and we decided to head to Kali River Rapids.

693-1.jpg

It's not very clear but I am on the second row on the left hand side.

As we had done everything else we wanted to we decided to stand in the queue at KRR rather than get a FP - BIG mistake! The time posted was 40 mins however it felt like we waited FOREVER! I'm pretty sure it was approx 1.5 hours before we got anywhere near the front of the queue.

On exiting the ride we noticed the afternoon parade going by so followed it to Tusker House. It was fun singing and dancing along. From here we walked to the bus stop and headed back to Pop. I left Zaheer to rest and headed to the Hippy Dippy pool where I was meant to be meeting Wendy (teekathepony).

I refilled my mug before heading that way, sat for a bit watching everyone enjoy themselves before texting Wendy to let her know I was by the pool. She arrived shortly after with her DH and cousins. I chatted with her for a bit and we both caught up with the going ons in each others trip. It was really nice meeting you Wendy and I am still gutted that I didn't think of taking a picture. I could've just taken a photo on my phone - duh! Oh well, maybe we'll meet again one day ;)

After catching up I returned to our room and rested. Zaheer headed to (can you guess...) DQ of course!! He bought back some sandwiches from EoS which I happily hoovered up before calling it a night.

Coming next: A solo tour to Epcot!

So glad your rode EE! :cool1: I love the single rider line! I hope you enjoyed the ride.

Breakfast looks yummy. I have always wanted to eat breakfast this, but haven't yet. I did enjoy lunch there.

Nice pics. I'm glad you got to see the parade. I love that parade. This Christmas version is my fav.

Yeah for a DIS meet. Glad that Zaheer brought you back some yummy sandwiches!

Sorry you didn't get to meet Daisy, but breakfast looked yummy! That one's on the list for next time! ;) Wow! I haven't met Jiminy Cricket yet!! Good job on spotting him! :thumbsup2 I'm glad you like FOTLK because I love it! Such a good show! Those people are so talented! :goodvibes

Hello! What a nice day in AK! Sorry that you didn't have the best time at Tusker House as it's one of our favs now, but then again we go very early and that was most likely the difference in our experiences.

I have the exact same pic of Kadence with the gorilla! She enjoyed posing with all the cut out animals there.(In january)

Whoa, 1.5 hours!!! I would have cried that it was cutting into my park time.

BTW, I so want EOS right now! Mmmmmm.:cloud9:

I LOVE Animal Kingdom. I think Magic Kingdom and Epcot may be tied for first and HS and AK second...I love all four parks!

I'm sorry that your character interactions weren't great, but I am glad you enjoyed the food! The picture of you and Zaheer with Donald is cute! I also love the one of you and Jiminy!

This reminds me, and I am going off on a tangent...Do they show the TV series Once Upon a Time in UK? Is that a silly question? :upsidedow
Do you watch it? The girls and I love it!

I have no problem with EE, it's one of my favorites.....but even though I know what to expect on Dinosaur, I still keep my eyes closed for half the ride! :rotfl:

Glad you enjoyed FOTLK, it's a favorite of mine.

As far as Dinosaur goes, you're braver than me! The second time I went on it, I just closed my eyes halfway through and waited for it to be over. :rotfl: All those loud noises are too much for me.

EoS...sounds like a nice dinner while at WDW.

It's awesome that you were able to meet so many fellow DISers on your trip. Makes the trip a little more exciting knowing you're going to meet some other Disney lovers and recap all your adventures with people who know your plans. :thumbsup2

You didn't think Dinosaur was scary! Even though I know what's going to happen I scream every time. :rotfl: So glad you did EE. That ride is great!

YAY Meeting me! The highlight of your trip I'm sure. :rotfl:
Go you on EE! I lovvvve that ride (although I'm not big on hands in the air!) Sorry to hear you felt rushed at Tusker House though :(
I adore FOTLK, I've been in every animal section I think... the elephants are the hardest to do without yelling really loud and weird. :upsidedow

Yeah, back to AK! :) I'm sorry you were a bit rushed at Tusker House, but at least you got to still meet some characters and the meal sounds good enough. Hopefully you'll meet Daisy later in this report :thumbsup2 I also gotta give a big thumbs up to the Mickey Waffles love those things :lovestruc

So jealous that you got to meet Jiminy! I've always wanted to meet that guy. Rafiki's Planet Watch also looks wicked cool. I love petting zoos :goodvibes LOL @ the cut-out gorilla being bigger than you ;)

Oooo... FotLK, another show I need to see. It looks really cool. Crossing my fingers for that Lion section though when I go ::yes:: And that's awesome you still got to meet Rafiki, funny though how you didn't meet him at RAFIKI's planet watch :rotfl:

Glad you got to ride DINOSAUR! Some people really do make that ride sound much scary than it is. It is actually a very fun ride especially with the innovative technology. I'm sorry though you didn't get to ride Primeval Whirl, not a great ride in my opinion and I have the bruises to prove it :sad2: Big :thumbsup2 to EE though, best ride EVER!

I'm sorry you had to wait in such a long line for KRR. You gotta be careful when it comes to that ride, it can become... unpredictable. It's not worth the long waits though, but did you enjoy it anyway? :)

Mmmm... that sandwich from EoS looks good! I'm so going there next time, I've heard too many good things.

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

So glad you got to ride EE- I can't get enough of that ride! And I also LOVE Dinosaur- I was so scared the first time I went on it- but now it's a fave!

I was happy I rode EE in the end as well! :thumbsup2 It was scary and I can imagine it would be better with a riding companion but at least I now know what to expect.

The breakfast was yummy and I hope that if I ever returned the service and character meets will be great as well. I'm glad you enjoyed lunch though am not sure if it would be busier now that it has characters as well.

Thanks! :goodvibes I'm glad I got to see the parade as well. Ooh in that case I look forward to hearing about when you saw the Christmas parade on your trip.

It was really nice to meet Wendy and have some sandwiches from EoS instead of a Pop dinner again.

:goodvibes

I was a bit disappointed about not meeting Daisy...I missed her in Epcot as well :( Oh definitely add TH to your list for next time...it is a great place that has great food when everything goes to plan ;) Thanks! I enjoyed meeting Jiminy Cricket and love the photo I got with him.

I have to agree with FOTLK - it's simply AMAZING! :goodvibes You are right in that the people that take part in that show are so talented.

Hello! I loved both our days in AK...it sure is a great park! :goodvibes I think going early is probably what made your experience different...if I ever ate here again I would probably try to get an earlier reservation. I want to try and get into a park before it's official opening one day so maybe I could try it with a TH reservation ;)

Lol they sure are great to pose with! I have some other with the cut outs...think with the tiger and one other animal but didn't include them.

I didn't mind the wait as we didn't have anything else we particularly wanted to do but in future I'll definitely be getting a FP instead!

Mmmm EoS is sooo good! I've just had my dinner an hour or so ago but could still eat a sandwich!

I LOVE Animal Kingdom as well and agree that all four parks are AMAZING and have something to offer! I enjoyed AK being the first park I visited so for that reason I think it'll always be special to me :lovestruc

Yeah, if I'd managed to have met Daisy I would've been happy but unfortunately it didn't happen...oh well maybe next time ;) Thanks! I love the pic of me and Jiminy as well.

Your question is not silly at all :flower3: Unfortunately though Once Upon a Time is not shown in the UK. I have heard about it and it sounds like a great watch. I may have to see if I can watch it online once it finishes in th US - am glad to hear you and the girls are loving the show!

I have no problem with EE, it's one of my favorites.....but even though I know what to expect on Dinosaur, I still keep my eyes closed for half the ride! :rotfl:

EE was a great ride but think I will handle it better now that I know what to expect ;) Lol my first picture was hilarious and I was determined after that experience to keep my eyes opened this time round. My notes say it wasn't that scary but if it was I can't remember!

:thumbsup2

I loved FOTLK and can see why everyone really raves about the show on here.

The first time on Dinosaur I couldn't do it either and just had my eyes closed the whole way through the ride! :lmao: However the second time I was determined and just kept telling myself how 'scary' could it be  I think having Zaheer there with me helped as I am grabbing onto him in the photo.

I agree in that EoS is a great meal to have in Disney World. There is apparently a branch in London as well so one of these days I'll have to check it out!

It was so nice to meet so many people from the boards on my first trip to Disney and you sure are right in that it was great to compare notes and see how much we stuck to our original plans :goodvibes

You didn't think Dinosaur was scary! Even though I know what's going to happen I scream every time. :rotfl: So glad you did EE. That ride is great!

Hahaha I found it incredibly scary the first time round!! I think once I know what is going to happen in an attraction I can handle it...it's the unknown that scares me! :rotfl: I loved EE but don't think I'd rush to ride it on my own again...would prefer to have someone with me to share the experience.

:upsidedow

Of course meeting you was the highlight of my trip as no doubt it was for you as well! :rotfl:

I know, I couldn't believe I went on it...you should've seen me once I came off! I was raving to Zaheer about how brave I had just been! Yeah, that wasn't nice at Tusker House but I got my hearty breakfast which kept me going for the rest of the day.

I think it's great...maybe that should be my aim. I need to be seated in every section so i can do all the noises. I thought warthog would be very hard to do but can imagine elephants would be difficult as well :upsidedow

Yeah AK sure is great! :cool1: It was a shame about being rushed at Tusker House but I was happy to meet the characters I did and the food sure was yummy! Unfortunately it doesn't happen :( I thought I may have got to see her in Epcot but never did spot her. Hopefully next time ;) Oh I absolutely adore Mickey Waffles...they are the BEST things ever! I so wanted to get the Mickey waffle toaster so I could make some at home but am scared they wouldn't turn out the same and I would be disappointed.

So jealous that you got to meet Jiminy! I've always wanted to meet that guy. Rafiki's Planet Watch also looks wicked cool. I love petting zoos :goodvibes LOL @ the cut-out gorilla being bigger than you ;)

I was soo happy that I got to meet Jiminy! :p It made me even happier that we then met Rafiki later on so didn't miss out either. I'm not a massive fan of petting zoos but Zaheer enjoyed it a lot. Haha that is hilarious but then it's not that hard for many thing to be bigger than me given that I'm a wee little thing myself! :rotfl:

Oooo... FotLK, another show I need to see. It looks really cool. Crossing my fingers for that Lion section though when I go ::yes:: And that's awesome you still got to meet Rafiki, funny though how you didn't meet him at RAFIKI's planet watch

You haven't seen FOTLK yet ? You definitely have to add it to your wish list and watch it. It's so AMAZING! You would love it! I was the same...so wishing I got Lion section so was well chuffed when that's where we ended up :thumbsup2 Haha I just commented on that above but it is funny the way things turned out.

I'm glad I gave it another shot and enjoyed it a lot more this time round. Tbh although I wanted to try Primeval Whirl it wasn't high on my list of things to do especially after reading all the horror stories about it before our trip :sad2: Eek at still having bruises as a result of that ride. I enjoyed EE but am sure it would be even better with riding with someone I know...maybe on my next trip :goodvibes

I'm sorry you had to wait in such a long line for KRR. You gotta be careful when it comes to that ride, it can become... unpredictable. It's not worth the long waits though, but did you enjoy it anyway? :)

I wish I hadn't waited for so long but went off the posted time...oh well at least I know what to do if I was ever in that situation again. I actually enjoyed it more last time when we didn't have to wait long as we got soaked. I don't think we got that wet this time round and you know how getting soaked on the water rodes is the way to go!

Mmmm... that sandwich from EoS looks good! I'm so going there next time, I've heard too many good things.

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

The sandwiches from EoS are amazing and so worth it! We got another lot on our final day to eat at the airport.

So glad you got to ride EE- I can't get enough of that ride! And I also LOVE Dinosaur- I was so scared the first time I went on it- but now it's a fave!

I was glad as well though riding it solo, once was enough! I hope to get to ride it with someone on a future trip. Haha that's exactly the way I feel about Dinosaur! I was soo scared the first time round but think I'm okay with it now and actually enjoyed it! I'll have to see if it becomes a fave...

I woke up and was a bit nervous today as I was heading to Epcot on my own. Zaheer was going to rest and then do his own thing (he ended up at Typhoon Lagoon). I don't think I waited too long for a bus and got through bag check really early.

My first port of call was Soarin and I requested front row! I loved this ride again and actually noticed little details that I hadn't before. Unfortunately I didn't write down what it was and can not remember.

I took a pic of The Land and a fountain before walking around and taking in my surroundings.

702-1.jpg
703-1.jpg

I headed to Imagination which I thought was okay but nothing special.

704-1.jpg
706-1.jpg

At some point during the day I took this pic of the monorail.

705-1.jpg

I remember wanting to watch Captain EO but just missed a show. I went outside as it was a really nice day and asked someone to take my pic. I was a bit nervous to ask - don't know why though as the person didn't object or think it was wierd.

709-1.jpg

Captain EO was okay as a one off but I don't think I would rush to watch it repeatedly even though I am a fan of Michael Jackson.

711-1.jpg

I decided to do a Kim Possible Mission so got a FP and headed to Norway.

712-1.jpg

I enjoyed the mission but think it would have been more fun to do with other people rather than on a solo trip. I did however get to see things in Norway that I had previously skipped.

714-1.jpg
716-1.jpg

I went on Maelstrom which was okay but I enjoyed Gran Fiesta better. I also explored the shop in more detail.

717-1.jpg

I wish I had seen this troll the last time I was in here so I could've got a picture with it.

719-1.jpg
718-1.jpg

At this point I was hungry so headed to Mexico in order to get some nachos and churros. The portion size was way too big for one person and no I never did get to work my way through it!

722-2.jpg

I took some shots of the flowers and countries from afar using the zoom option - I was pretty pleased with the results given that I am not a camera person at all!

723-1.jpg
724-1.jpg
725-1.jpg
726-1.jpg
727-1.jpg
728-1.jpg

I love this shot of the ball.

729-1.jpg

I headed to Canada as it was one of the countries I hadn't explored on previous trips. I loved the gardens.

730-1.jpg
732-1.jpg

734-1.jpg
735-1.jpg

Coming next: A great character M&G, two yummy snacks and a DIS meet!

Nice update! If there is one park I would love to do a solo day in , it would be Epcot. Only the World Showcase though. I want to just wander though it all!

Very nice photos!
