'Where's your prince' and will this tale end 'happily ever after'? Sept 11 - Complete

1900 Park Fare looks so cute! What a weird assortment of characters there, though! :rotfl: I don't see how Pooh and Tigger fit in, I would figure that's more of a princess-y place. OR, make it all Alice and Wonderland, and replace them with the White Rabbit...and the CHESHIRE CAT! AHHHH I really really want a Cheshire Cat meet and greet someday! I really need to work for Disney.

Sorry about that tangent! :rotfl: The glass slipper dessert looks so cute! The strawberry soup freaks me out, it's a pretty color, but it just seems strange. :confused3 I know a lot of people like it, though!

I love the GF, I want to stay there someday SOOO bad!

LOL, I'm surprised I never got lost at a water park either, looking for your chair can be confusing! That's great that you found a nice CM to help you! :thumbsup2

Great pictures of you and the characters. 1900 Park Faire is a meal I have always wanted to try. I bet it made a great brunch.

Beautiful pictures of the GF. I have to admit that I can't wait for the DVC resort to open up there. I am so going there with Denny and I don't care how many points it is. :rotfl:

The cinderella slipper dessert is so pretty. What a beautiful way to end a meal, but it really does look too pretty to eat.

Glad you enjoyed your second water park. What a great place to chill and read a book!

Breakfast looked like so much fun, I have never met the Mad Hatter and he seems like such a fun character to interact with :goodvibes

GF is such a beautiful resort, I am taking my mom to tea there on our next trip and am very excited!!

Despite the wrong reservation time, it looks like you two had a really nice day. Eating a nice big breakfast, then spending the day at a water park sounds so relaxing and enjoyable. I'm sure exploring Pop and going to see a nighttime show was a perfect way to top off the day, and I can't wait to see what you decided to watch.

Ok, I've never had the real Strawberry Soup because I've never been to 1900 Park Fare but I found a recipe online and Matt and I made it this summer and, to be honest, I was not impressed. It was very... tart? Sour? I'm not sure exactly how to describe it but it was definitely not as sweet as I pictured it. Was that your experience too?

Well that's one way to ensure you arrive early to an ADR - think the time is an hour before! :lmao:

Great Update, i want to try 1900 PF someday but I really want to do the dinner with Cinderella and the Stepmother and stepsisters, I heard they are really funny. Sorry you didn't like the strawberry soup, I guess it's just personal preference because a lot of people rave about it, I had strawberry soup on a cruise before and liked it there, then again I am a huge fan of the chilled fruit soups.

Glad you had a nice day at BB, funny you lost your spot, that's not hard to do there, it is a big place with lots of pathways. Glad you liked the 2 water slides you did, those were the ones I most wanted to do when we were there in May but it was not to be...

I love breakfast at 1900 pf, but I can't believe you didn't like the strawberry soup, I love that stuff!!!!

Great update! The buffet looked yummy!! What great interactions with the characters!! :thumbsup2 The GF looks beautiful in your pictures! I am the same way, I love to visit, but I don't think I would actually want to stay there.

That is too funny about you getting lost at BB! :rotfl: But I completely understand! I would do the same thing! I get so confused! :lmao: But that is so nice that the CM helped you out! :goodvibes

1900 PF was great! I have to agree that it was wierd seeing Winnie the Pooh and Tigger here even though I enjoyed meeting them  We saw them at so many places that I wouldn't have minded meeting other characters here. I love the idea of having all Alice in Wonderland characters as I would LOVE to meet the White Rabbit and Cheshire Cat :cloud9: Haha you definitely need to work for Disney and make some changes!

No worries - I love reading all comments. Oh that slipper looked so pretty that I felt a bit guilty digging into it :confused3 I don't know what it was about the strawberry soup - I thought I would like it but it just wasn't sweet enough for me. I tend to like sweet things! :rotfl: Yeah, a lot of people do like it but I'm just not one of them.

I remember reading that on your TR!!! I hope you get to stay there one day...think I wouldn't mind staying at GF but there are other resorts I want to try first.

I couldn't believe I managed to get lost in a water park of all places!! :lmao: The CM was really nice and I'm glad he helped me as otherwise I would probably have been searching for my chair for much longer!

Thanks! You should try 1900 Park Fare as it was enjoyable and made a great brunch. We didn't eat again until later in the evening.

GF is so pretty and I totally get why you would want to stay here. :rotfl: at not caring how many points it'll be to stay here when a DVC resort opens!!! I hope that happens soon for you.

The cinderella slipper dessert was pretty and I have to admit I did feel a tiny bit of guilt breaking it up. However, after tasting the first spoonful that guilt faded away pretty quickly! :lmao:

The water park was a great way to chill and read a book. Plus Zaheer got to go on the water rides so we both enjoyed the day.

GF is such a beautiful resort, I am taking my mom to tea there on our next trip and am very excited!!

It was great fun and because we were one of the last people to leave we had great fun with all the characters. I was a bit torn between breakfast and dinner when making this reservation however the Mad Hatter swayed it for me. He was such a hoot to meet! :rotfl:

Ooh you should be excited on taking your mum for tea here on your next trip!! I have read reviews of the afternoon tea and it looks great - I wouldn't mind trying it myself one day :goodvibes

We had a great day and it was nice to spend time away from the parks! The breakfast was a nice way to start the day and then the water park was good fun as well - well apart from getting lost but it was all part of the experience! :rotfl:

I'm glad we finally got to see some of Pop and all will be revealed on the nighttime show we watched soon - though you can probably figure it out from my previous posts

That's great that you and Matt made that Strawberry Soup after finding a recipe online. I have to agree with you on not being impressed with the soup. Zaheer enjoyed it but he does not have a sweet tooth whereas I enjoy things that are sweet  I did find that it had a wierd taste and was a bit sour. You definitely nailed my experience in your description though have to say I have trouble in describing it exactly as well. It just wasn't as sweet as I thought it to be...I guess I was picturing sweet strawberries and it just let me down a little.

Well that's one way to ensure you arrive early to an ADR - think the time is an hour before! :lmao:

Hahaha it definitely is!!! Maybe I should just note all my ADRs wrong on a future trip and then that way I will be early to all of them!

Thanks! I want to do 1900 PF again but for dinner so I can meet Cinderella and the Stepsisters. I have heard the character interaction is awesome and so much fun. The only worry I have though is that the buffet food doesn't get great reviews over on the dining boards. I agree about the Strawberry Soup - it definitely is a personal preference and I know a lot of people who enjoy it. I'm glad you liked it on the cruise.

It's nice to hear that losing my spot is not hard to do...makes me feel better :thumbsup2 I hope you get to do them 2 water rides on a future trip. Teamboat Springs was so much fun and I would have gone again but the queue was a bit long. With Runoff Rapids the huge stair climb put me off going on it again...climbing them once was enough! :rotfl:

I love breakfast at 1900 pf, but I can't believe you didn't like the strawberry soup, I love that stuff!!!!

I loved breakfast at 1900 PF but sorry didn't like the strawberry soup! Like someone else has said I guess it depends on each persons taste buds and what they like. I'm glad you love that stuff!!!!

That is an odd assortment of characters! Did they make you wait a whole hour to seat you?

It sure was, wasn't it? I was just happy to be able to meet Mad Hatter! :rotfl:

Haha no they didn't make us wait a whole hour. We waited about 15 minutes so got seated early :thumbsup2

Great update! The buffet looked yummy!! What great interactions with the characters!! :thumbsup2 The GF looks beautiful in your pictures! I am the same way, I love to visit, but I don't think I would actually want to stay there.

Thanks! The buffet was very yummy!!! :thumbsup2 I loved meeting all the characters though my favourite had to be Mad Hatter - he was hilarious and totally made my morning!! :rotfl: The GF was beautiful and I loved visiting it but don't know what it was that made me think I wouldn't want to stay here. It all looks so pretty...think I would be scared that I would ruin something! :lmao:

:rotfl2: it is funny when I think about getting lost at BB now!! However, at the time I was totally panicking and wondering if/when I would ever find my stuff! I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one that would do something like that. The CM was great and it was very nice of him to stay with me until I found my stuff...he didn't have to do that! :goodvibes

Sorry I've been away this past month. All caught up. I only smiled at you loosing your stuff. I do things like that all the time. One reason why dh would never let me go to a park alone. I loose my car all the time. As for 1900 both dd and me loved our breakfast as well. I did like the strawberry soup. It is on my list of adr for our next trip.

Great pictures from 1900 PF! I have always wanted to try that slipper dessert...it looks so delish!!

Your shots around the GF are beautiful. I love that hotel but I don't think I would like to stay there:confused3 It's one I only want to visit!

Hope all is well!

I found your TR this morning and started reading when I realised we are both from the UK!

I was planning to read right through but your food pictures were killing me so I had to stop so I could go out for something to eat, I've just caught up and now my tummy is rumbling all over again.

My boyfriend and I visited for the first time last year and we too are desperate to go back. It is so frustrating being in the UK as although resort stays and dining are affordable the crazy flight prices mean that we have to be patient and save, save, save.

I had actually booked for September 2012 but I realised that although money wise it would be manageable I'd be left with very little for spending or emergencies so I cancelled  I'm deadset on January 2013 though.

I know that I read your latest update, but guess I forgot to respond. I love all of your pictures with the characters at 1900 Park Fare -- especially Pooh and Tigger. :goodvibes We've never eaten there (again, Mark will not even walk in to the Grand Floridian) and Nicki really detested dinner there and she has never steered me wrong before.

That's funny that you were an hour early for your ADR. ;)

No worries, am glad you are here now :goodvibes Lol I get lost in Manchester - my family just laugh at me bacause I have a sat nav and still end up in a dead end alleyway rather than my destination!! :rotfl2: The tip with the car is to take a pic - I always do that now after searching for about 1.5 hours once in a UK theme park.

1900 PF was a great breakfast! I would definitely return but probably won't try the strawberry soup again.

Aaw thanks hun - I loved having breakfast here :goodvibes Oh, that slipper dessert is definitely worth trying and I would order it again! It's a bit rich but I love things that way too sweet for my good anyway!! :lmao:

I loved visiting GF but feel the same way you do...not sure if I would want to stay here but would definitely visit again.

All is well here...hope you, Jasmine and Jeff are well and counting down to Christmas which will be here in 28 days!!! :scared1:

:welcome: and thank you for joining! :goodvibes It's always good to meet another UK DISer.

:lmao: Yeah I have learnt that coming on these boards whilst you are hungry is definitely not a good idea!!!

Aaw I hope you and your boyfriend had a great first trip together and get to return soon. I totally get what you are saying about flight prices...they are scary! :scared1: If I didn't have to factor that in I would probably visit again next year as could afford the package stay. Instead I have to be patient and wait until 2013 :sad2:

Think I will be returning late August/early September in 2013 as have to factor in my sisters school holidays however January 2013 sounds like a good plan. From what I've read on the Internet it is a quiet time to visit - I can definitely vouch for September time though...it was soo good and the crowds were very manageable.

Lol, I thought you might have enjoyed the pics of Pooh and Tigger! They sure were great meet and greets! I hope you get to eat there one day and can convince Mark to walk into the Grand Floridian and stay long enough for a meal. I totally understand him wanting to stay away though.

I have heard bad reviews of dinner (on Nikki's and others DRs) which is why I am a little weary of trying it however I can definitely say the breakfast was great. I would still choose Crystal Palace over 1900 Park fare however this would be a close second :goodvibes

Your breakfast at 1900 Park Fare looks like fun! I have to admit, I'm not a fan of the strawberry soup either!

I'm sorry you got lost heading back to your stuff at BB!! But, what a nice CM to help you!!! I love stuff like that!

The breakfast was definitely lots of fun!!! Yay, I'm happy I'm not alone with not being a fan of strawberry soup - I really thought I would enjoy it after hearing all about it on these boards but that just wasn't the case :confused3

Lol yes I am pretty bad when it comes to sense of direction...really have no clue!! The CM was really nice and I was glad that he helped me. I meant to let Disney know of his assistance but haven't done so yet...need to make sure I get in touch to tell them about his help.

Hey there! How are you?

We love 1900 Park Fare's food, yet I've never tried the strawberry soup. I know they have it, but I guess I thought it was served at dinner. :confused3

We are trying the dinner next month... that is so cool to say. I will have to let you know what we think!

I think GF is very pretty; it is bright and crisp. I am excited to stay there when the DVC section opens (I guess it has to actually be built and Disney has to actually admit it exists first.:rotfl:) but I suspect it won't be our favorite.
