When we were in Disney in July we couldn't find much at all with Wall*E on it. We did buy Wall*E shirts in our Disney store in PA and we also got the same reaction. People loved the shirts and wanted to know where to find them. Our Walmart has Wall*E shirts for toddlers and outfits and our Target has Wall*E shirts for older kids. My son had no sizes for him! Our Toys R Us had a very small amount of toys and we scooped up the remote controlled Wall*E for $50. I figured they wouldn't be around by Christmas so he used birthdday money to get it.
Maybe the lack of Wall E merchandise is keeping with the theme of the movie...know what I mean?
Well, sort of. I agree, it is no Nemo or Lion King - BUT my son LOVES the characters (Wall e and Eve) and thinks they are so cute. Kids don't care that much about brilliant story lines, apparently.
I didn't mean that the movie was too grown up and therefore there isn't as much demand for merchandise...I agree kids loved it, my dd ADORES walle. I meant maybe the lack of merchandise is because the movie's point was that we buy too much crap. The more walle crap they make, the more we'll buy.
I doubt that is the real reason though...dis would probably rather make more money selling cheap plastic toys to fill up the earth if it fills their pockets.![]()
my son also has the Wall-e robot for $50. And I was soooo mad when I went to blockbuster a few days later and found out they sell them too for $35. Blockbuster had lots of Wall-E merchandise.
Also Wal-mart has Wall-E blankets, bed sets, chairs, and t-shirts for sale now.
