Where's the Booze? Alcohol at DCA?

Saw some great drink photos on the dining reviews thread, but can't find a thread here listing DCA restaurants that serve alcoholic drinks. Particularly interested in walkup options--probably won't have time to linger over a sit down meal with our large party. Which places in DCA serve drinks/beer, and what are your faves? Can you walk around the park with the alcohol? I noted in the dining reviews the advice to not try to take alcohol across to DL or into DTD but wondering if you have to stay within restaurant boundaries to enjoy your drink. Thanks!

The only one I know of for sure is the stand that sells margaritas over by the pacific wharf. Although I think I heard you aren't supposed to leave that area with them.

Not sure though. I've never felt the need to drink there.

They actually serve the beer and margaritas in Flourescent yellow/green cups, so everyone knows what you have at a glance. You can walk around with those drinks - it's the wine that has to stay on the patio at the Golden Vine Winery.

Also, there is a full bar in the Ariel's Grotto building (called the Cove Bar). Haven't been there since we had kids, but I remember killer drinks and lobster nachos.

They have cream cheese filled pretzels at the beer wagon!

If there is no alcohol served at Wine Country Trattoria (which would be odd, given the name), I can say for CERTAIN that there is a wine tasting area not far from WCT. I saw some men standing there, sampling the wine and getting a little buzzed. It was funny. So that is guaranteed alcohol. And of course, there are plenty of places outside of the park, in the hotels or in DTD, that serve drinks.

They do for sure have wine at Wine Country Trattoria. I think beer too. I remember reading Molly's (bumpershoot) TR and she had a beer with her lunch. But I don't think they have mixed drinks (I would have ordered one when we were there for dinner).

With the beer/margaritas in the bright yellow cups you can walk (I think) everywhere in DCA, but you can not leave the gates with the drink..

I was going to say, it would be crazy to not at least serve wine at Wine Country Trattoria, if no other alcohol, but I was so excited about ordering my meatball sandwich from their menu that I didn't pay any attention to their wine list! I just remember specifically seeing the middle aged guys - whose families seemed to have abandoned them at the wine tasting counter area nearby - getting sloshed in mid-afternoon. I would think that in some ways, DCA would become extra popular because of the booze aspect that Disneyland lacks. Maybe not enough people have figured out that there is booze in DCA yet and just assume it is like DL.

Thanks for the details, everybody! I'm still in shock that they offer alcohol at all at DCA, and I'll probably get more of a buzz off the thought of drinking at "DL" than from my watered down margarita! :) Thinking I may need one at some point--we're going with a crowd of 8 adults & 5 kiddos for 3 days!
