Where's all the deal threads???

Wow I've not been inspired to buy anything this Christmas Season that I didn't need as I have in years past. What's up people, you slipping? I guess my wallet thanks you

This year has been sort of "meh" for deals so far if you ask me. I've gotten a few things in the last couple of weeks that were OK deals, but nothing that I think "WOW! I got a fabulous deal on that!" And just like last year, my best deals were between Columbus Day and BF, with the very best around Veteran's day. BF was a total bust for me this year - I didn't even bother going online because nothing in any of the ads appealed to me. I did pick up a few things at some of the Target sales during Cyber week, but nothing really amazing deal-wise.

I think right now the retailers know people are frantically shopping for gifts to give at Christmas and order them while there is time for shipping, so they don't have to discount things too much. After about the 20th, that's when I'm hoping we'll see some really great deals - then it's past the gift shipping window, and sometimes retailers just want to dump the stock. But this year, I'm not sure that even at that point the deals will be great...

I think many of the good deals were before Black Friday this year, but even then unless it was something really specific most of them have just been okay, not great. I think the time for really great deals has passed and if next year is anything like this year you'll be hard-pressed to find them.

I agree with the OP. I'm actually saving a ton of money this year because in the past I've always found so many "deals" on the budget board that I ended up buying and I always ended up way over my Christmas budget.
