I know on the Western we are in Key West into the evening. What do people generally do there?

We were pretty tired after a wonderful day walking around and checking out all the sights of Key West so after watching a fantastic sunset from up on deck 10 we just stayed on the ship and relaxed. We did notice a lot of people down at Mallory Square - I think a lot of people hang out there. There are also many, many bars up and down Duval street if you are so inclined.

Mallory Square for sunset or Sloppy Joe's bar.;)

Leave the kids on the ship and just walk down the streets, but don't forget the camera. The "women" really dress up for the night and walk the streets. I sure would like to know where the men(?) do their shopping, we could buy our dresses for formal night. It was all I could do to stop staring and keep for laughing too loud. Just visit the Hogs Breath and Sloppy Joes for a taste of the local culture also.

Irish Kevin's is the best!!!! I lived in the keys five years ago for the summer. It used to be called Hammerheads. Irish Kevin is a guitar player/ singer, who involves the crowd a great deal. He plays Irish drinking songs, gives away free drinks, it is a total blast. He used to play all the bars down there, but he ended up getting his own bar. Also in Key West you can drink in the street, so grab a drink in a bar and, bar hop!

Thx to all for your suggestions.....I just bought a book today to help me decide what to do as well!

Don't forget to make it back on board - you don't want to be left stranded in KW.

Hi this is Shirley - you know the one from Key West - I still have some good stuff on what to do and where to go etc on Key West and the cost is nothing but a SASE - Key West is really something at night - IF I was going to be there at night, I would do the Hotel LaConcha - but you have to remember that now that I am up in age, I can't keep up with the pace toward the end of Duval Street - Hog's Breath tho would be my favorite if I was down that part of town - if I can help in any way, just drop me a note at snelsonbrown@aol.com.
Have fun in my hometown BUT be careful of the shisters.
Always
Shirley
