How do you guys store your pins? I am not a big fan of the lanyard and was wondering what my other options were.

On the trip before last, we really got into the pin trading thing. When we got home, I went to Old Time Pottery and bought a shadow box. I took the cardboard backing and covered it in black velvet and tacked my favorite pins on it. It's sitting on my bookshelf in my den and everyone comments on it. The actual frame is cherry wood so it goes really well with our furniture but they have them in a few different finishes.

My pins kept overgrowing all the ways I was storing them. I know have a lot of them in frames. Either by trip, ie each holiday, or by groups. I use corkboards with black cardstock on them or black felt for my lanyard series pins and to store all the others....I have a document file cabinet. and a really ornate dresser. I lined each with foam board and then just stuck the pins in by groups. Now when i want to check out what ones i have i just have to open a drawer.

We bought cork board at Home Depot and stuck it on DS's door. He keeps all of the backs in ziplock bags and pushes the pins on the cork board.
