We've never stayed at any of these hotels, so we're having a tough time deciding. Any input would be appreciated :thanks:

Fairfield Anaheim $75.00 per night
Paradise Pier $159.00 per night
Disneyland Hotel $179.00 per night

We're staying 3 nights (Fri., Sat., Sun.) and going to the parks 2 days (Sat. & Sun.). This is the weekend of the Miley Cyrus Birthday at DL, so MM is only available on Sat. Thanks! :disrocks:

If the Fairfield Anaheim is the same Fairfield Inn on Harbour accross the street from the gate, then I have stayed there. It was nice. The walk is easy even after being in the parks all day. There is a McDonalds in the parking lot next to the hotel. There is also another restraunt in the same parking lot. The pool looked okay. Not very big. The rooms are a nice size with a small fridge. The vanity is just outside the bathroom. Parking can be a hassle. So if you find a good spot leave the car there and don't move it if you don't have to.

I haven't stayed at the other 2, but there will be responses from ones that have. HTH!

You are going to end up ar Fairfield because the other 2 are probably sold out!

If you can find a room at PP or DHL, I think I would choose those, if you can afford it, because if you'll only have 2-day parkhoppers, you won't be able to use Magic Mornings, staying offsite. Those are going to be very busy days, and that Magic Morning would be crucial. Also, if you stay onsite, you can use both Sat. and Sun. Magic Mornings. Again, great way to get a jump on those crowds, which are likely to be pretty busy.

On the other hand, when will you get there on Friday? It might actually be worth it to you to go ahead and get 3-day hoppers, then stay at the less expensive Fairfield, which is really just as close as DLH, and closer than PP.

You could go in on Friday afternoon/evening, stroll around and explore, see the parade and the fireworks. Then your next two days of touring could be a little more structured without you feeling like you missed some relaxed exploring time.

With 3-day hoppers, you will get ONE MM and can use it on Saturday like you planned.

Heh, I probably just mixed you up more. Sorry! :)

davidsprincess,
Thanks for the information on the Fairfield Inn! It is the one on Harbour Blvd. It sounds nice, I like that it has a fridge. We won't have a car so that won't be an issue. Did you try the Pizza Hut?

I second the Fairfield Inn! When we first started visiting Disneyland in 2000, we picked that hotel and loved it! It has a McDonald's out front with a Anaheim police sub station in the parking lot! Our car was safe and McDonald's was a good Breakfast place! The hotel was clean and we had a good view of the fireworks when the kiddos were too pooped! My opinion would be to keep the extra $ for spending $ and stay at the Fairfield Inn.

I like the Fairfield a lot but if you are looking to make the trip a little more special I would vote for the Disneyland Hotel. They've redone the rooms in recent years and there is just something special about staying in the original hotel (IMO). The pool is pretty nice and you can take the monorail into the park - always a treat for kids.

I've stayed at Paradise Pier as well. Our rooms were small, the two creaky elevators took forever and the place just seemed runned down (in 2007).

No we did not try the Pizza Hut, but I believe some others here have and liked it. We only spent 2 nights there. First night we had supper from McD's and the next night we closed the park. Millie's restaurant is right in the parking lot (you have to walk by it to get to the hotel. Hotel is set behind) It will deliver and the food is AWSOME! I hope that you have a great trip!

Hi Gail,

There's only 1 Magic Morning that weekend (Saturday) because DL opens at 6:30 AM on Sunday. Our flight leaves at 7:25 AM on Friday, arriving at SNA a little after 2:00, so by the time we get to the hotel and get settled in, we'll probably be too wiped out to go to the parks that night (we'll be on east coast time, so it'll be 3 hrs. later for us). We'll probably just walk walk around DD and go somewhere nice for dinner.

I've always stayed at the Howard Johnson's just down the street from the front pedestrian entrance. It's clean, pleasant, not too expensive, and there's a Mimi's Cafe just outside the front door. You'll have to do a bit of walking to get to the parks, though, but I've never found it to be much of a hassle.

Thanks to everyone for their input.:) My head is telling me stay at Fairfield, it's a really nice hotel, the location is great and it's less that half the $ of the DL hotels. But we go to DL only once a year, so my heart is telling me to splurge and spend the extra $$$ to stay at the DLH.:confused3 Either way, I'm definitely going to Millie's! I haven't heard one negative comment about this place, only positive reviews.

wise king mickey,

Thanks for the input! We chose Fairfield because we thought it would be a little bit closer, but I did check HJ's and it's sold out for that weekend.

For my upconimg trip I had Fairfield booked prior to switching it to GCH. Sometimes ya just gotta go with the heart! :thumbsup2

I would save money and stay at the Fairfield. And you want to eat at Mimi's Cafe which is wonderful!

I agree, go with your heart. I first stayed on disney property back in 92 and haven't gone back since. There is just something about it, to me, that makes it feel more like a disney vacation. I know some people dont feel that way but I personally do. If you want to stay at DLH and can afford it then you should. Then when your trip for next year rolls around you will know if this is a good value for you or not. I hope you enjoy your trip! :)

We are going Oct. 4th thru 7th.. and Miley's birthday party is on the 5th.

I found great room prices at the Holiday Inn on Walnut, which is one block from Disneyland AND has a shuttle. $78.67 a night.:thumbsup2

We stayed there in Feb. and had a good stay. It's perfect for a quick get away weekend.

Have a Happy Trip!:goodvibes
