Last night my boyfriend my dbf gave me the go-ahead to plan our next trip to Disney in September 2007 (we're going to Tokyo Disney this summer).

We've decided to stay off-site for one week at the Peabody, as we enjoyed it so much last year.

My question is, which Disney hotel would you stay at if you had the choice?

Please help me decide, I'm a little lost.

Given the choice I would go for Port Orleans Riverside - I love it there :)

I would choose the Beach Club (preferably the Beach Cub Villas) as I love the theaming, pool and location. I prefer the villas as they are bigger and we have the full kitchen and a living room.

The Polynesian is our favourite resort for a whole host of reasons. Not only is theming wonderful but it has the largest standard rooms on Disney property, the best Disney transportation options, incredible head-on views of the Magic Kingdom from its white sand beaches and a great marina/pool.

The rooms have just undergone extensive renovation so now include flat-screen televisions and a whole new decor. They are very impressive.

Yup me too - though the Animal Kingdom Lodge comes a close second!

For me, the only reason to stay onsite (because there are much better hotels offsite for the money) is to be close to the action. My favourite park is Epcot, so the BoardWalk or the Yacht or Beach Clubs are always going to be a good bet. You also then get easy access to MGM.

Following my own logic, the monorail resorts are the best choice for Magic Kingdom access, with Wilderness Lodge coming in a close second.

We've stayed at Grand Floridian, Contemporary, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Beach Club and BoardWalk. AKL is a fabulous hotel, but it's so far from the parks, there's no real benefit in staying there. If I was choosing at the moment, I'd probably opt for either the Contemporary or the Poly as the rooms at both are currently being refurbished.

I'd choose the Port Orleans Riverside too. It IS the only Disney hotel we've ever stayed in and we liked it so much we're going back again this year.

It's is such a lovely resort for walking round especially when you get back from the parks because it's so peaceful - a great way to wind down.

Thanks everyone.

At the moment, I'm swaying towards the Yacht Club, with Grand Floridian, Boardwalk Inn and Beach Club very close behind.

I'm going to consider Port Orleans Riverside now, too.

First choice for me is the Grand Floridian. Second is the Wilderness Lodge.

Though in truth, whatever you choose will be nice.

Personally I'd do a split stay between GF for MK and BC for Epcot.

We stayed at both AKL and GF (came back yesterday  ) and I loved both these hotels. I have to say that we did not find AKL too far away, but we did have a car. I loved the GF soooooooooo much this is a fantastic hotel.

I agree about the GF - especially the Concierge staff who looked after us SO WELL.

Next time we go to wdw we will be hopefully staying at the gf which will be 2008. however this holiday is just meant to be on a budget as we have a big trip to california planned next easter. So for are upcoming trip we choose Port orleans, which I choose from the advice from this board. It seems like a lovely resort and I am really looking forward to it.

POFQ is great, but in a total choice I wuld choose a delux for the valet parking and the extra facilities. Concerige at Poly over looking the castle, of concerige savannah view at AKL.

As Epcot and the Studios are our favourite parks we would love to stay at the Boardwalk Inn next time, although the Yacht Club was fab, we just fancy something different!!

Claire ;)

Thanks for all of your replies. I've narrowed it down to either Yacht club, Grand Floridian or Boardwalk Inn.

So, my new question is, which type of room would you choose?

It depends what you are looking for and how much you wish to spend. The Royal Palm Club concierge services at the Grand Floridian are very good. The RPC rooms are all in the main building, which is an excellent bonus. They have access to the Main Building lounge with the complimentary food and beverages. It is also much easier to access the monorail station on the first floor, as well as the rest of the resorts facilities.

I agree with Frances. Staying Concierge at RPC at GF is great - we even had a wonderful view of the fireworks.
