We're planning on going back to WDW the week between Christmas and NYE this year, probably the 25th-4th. We've been there that time of year before, 3 years ago, so we know how crowded it will be so we definitely want to stay at a convenient resort, but just can't pick one! This time it will be me, my husband, our daughter (who will be 22 months old), and my mom, and maybe my 17yo BIL. We'll be getting 2 rooms with or without BIL.

Our last NYE trip we stayed at AKL for 4 nights then moved to the GF the last 4 nights. The GF was great, but I'd rather spend a bit less on this trip. While we do love AKL, and I wouldn't hesitate to go back there, we just stayed there for 6 nights last month, and for the NYE crowds we'd prefer a resort with more than just bus transportation.

We also stayed at the CR last month - we had never stayed there before (aside from when I was about 7) but we really liked the location and that we could walk to/from MK.

For this December trip, I am thinking the Poly is good cause it has the MK monorail and the TTC is right there for Epcot, so no switching necessary. My husband, mom, BIL are not thrilled by the decor of that resort though. My husband liked the CR after our last trip, especially walking to MK and being right in our building when we got off the bus/monorail. We'll also be spending NYE at the CG so it would be convenient to be right there at the CR. We also like the BWI/BC/YC area for the ability to walk/boat to Epcot and MGM. I've also heard great things about WL at Christmas, plus it has a boat to MK. I've also always wanted to try POFQ (they closed it last time we had reservations there) and I like the boat to DTD and think they have a good food court. My husband thinks that we'll hate the boats cause it will be cold out, and maybe he's right (though wouldn't that be rare!).

So where would you stay and why? I want to book our room soon (withdrawal after being home from WDW for a month!) but we really can't decide on a place. So hopefully some input from you guys will help sway us one way over the other!

I voted Beach club. We have stayed at both WL and Beach Club. You just can't beat that beach club location imho. It was so great to be so close to all the Epcot NYE stuff. The Boardwalk was always hopping. When we were at the Wilderness lodge- the lobby was beautiful but we live in the mountains- so for us this was not a big thrill for the lodge feel.
