just a quick question.
if you could stay at any moderate at wdw, which one and why?
thanks !

I'd stay at POFQ or POR-- it's like getting two resorts in one

The grounds are lovely with all the lush landscaping and the river passing thru.

I have stayed at POFQ and CBR. I really liked them, but I preferred CBR. The grounds were beautiful and the food area was good. I would stay there again in a heart beat. However, I would like to try CSR. It looks like a nice resort.

POFQ without any hesitation. It's a smaller resort and I love the themeing.

having never stayed at a moderate resort, i will say POR. the grounds look beautiful. i like the idea of "2 resorts in 1". i could get a room w/ a trundle bed, since we have 3 DD's. i love the idea of a boat to DTD. i am definitely going to try it one of these days!! and besides, i have my very own disney expert in my cousin. she is a "deluxe snob", but still swears by POR!

Port Orleans either in a mansion in the Riverside section or FQ. I like the themes, the grounds and the location of them and I don't like the layouts of CBR or CSR or the theme of the alligator bayou section of PO.

We are staying at CBR for the fourth time June 22nd thru June 30th. CBR has beautiful tropical themeing, peaceful walkways, sandy beaches with hammocks, and cute ducks. My daughters love CBR and wouldn't stay anywhere else. We used to stay at Martinique, Building 24 or 25 but know that it is preferred and cost extra we don't do that. We now stay in Jamaica, Building 44 or 45 and just love it. It is a short walk across a bridge to the food court and the main pool. The food court has great variety and a really nice gift shop. We like the main pool and the quiet pools. The bus service has always been great. The rooms are big for us with two double sinks.

We tried POR once and did not like the themeing. The bus service was terrible the week we were there and I did not think the food court had alot of variety. The main pool was nice and the boat ride to Downtown Disney was awesome. My daughters were very disappointed in POR so now we always go back to CBR.

port orleans riverside good size rooms, good food court, great pool, great playground boat to pleasure island... short ride to everything....

I would vote Coronado Springs. The pool is gorgeous. The theme is gorgeous. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. The food court is awesome. We stayed there in 1998 and I loved it.
We also stayed at the Port Orleans-however, this was back in 1990 and 1992, before it became POR vs POFQ. I liked it then, but the theming was a little lost on us because we weren't all that impressed. It looked like home (we live in New Orleans) and when we go on vacations, I look forward to themes different from that of where we live, but for those who do not live here-maybe it is a treat!
However, the Port Orleans does have nice rooms and a nice pool too; but if I had to pick, I'd vote CSR.

My vote would be CBR. I love the themeing, very tropical and you FEEL like you are on vacation. The hammocks and beach are beautiful at night! The morning walk to Port Royale for coffee and breakfast is sooo relaxing. I can't wait to go back in September for our honeymoon!

Hi. I've stayed at CBR, POR, and CSR. I really like the theming/'feel' of CBR, but POR and CSR are my favorite resorts. I stayed at CSR for the first time last month, and it was fantastic. Resort was beautiful, pools were great, bus service was excellent, and I loved the Pepper Market food area. I'd give the edge to CSR, except that POR has the option of taking a boat to DD, which is great and so convenient.

We'd probably pick POR. The landscaping is really beautiful. Very relaxing atmosphere. I think we are in the minority but we liked the Alligator Bayou section better. We liked the "woodsy" "lush" feeling we got there - a little more shady in that section as well. The food court was great too - much bigger than the deluxes which is great for quick meals with small kids.

If I had to chose a Moderate, I'd stay at CSR, probably only because I've stayed at the others but I've never been there.

After checking out Buzz2001's site, I'd have to say I'm impressed. I'm actually looking forward to a stay at CSR.

Definitely CSR, with CBR as a close second. POR and POFQ just aren't our style though they do have a lot of fans. Personally, I like that you really cant go wrong with any of the moderates. They're all great resorts. :)
But we LOVE CSR! :sunny:

POFQ!!!!!! Just got back from our first on-site stay so I can't compare with other moderates. The resort is small - nothing is a long walk, my DD's (9 and 11) could go to food court, gift shop, etc. alone, the boat to DTD and POR was a big plus, the pool privileges at POR were great to have, and we loved being on the river. Oh, and the buses really do always go there first before POR! Can you tell we LOVED POFQ? I know I wouldn't stay at POR just because of the size of the place, and I've heard the other moderates are much larger as well. CSR does interest me, and we liked the look of the property from the outside....we might consider trying it, but then again, why mess with a good thing? I don't think you can go wrong...you'll be at WDW!!! :flower:

POR hands down. Great food court, sit down restaurant, boat to DTD, plenty of pools, cool playground & beautiful grounds.
