Where would you prefer to stay?

Motel 6 ~ $50 per night.

Stovall's ~ $78 per night pre pay. I like the prepay option.

We're spending our 1st two nights at the DLH - I assume it'd be easier to walk with our luggage to Stovall's. We could always take a taxi....

Which do you think would be safer *it's just DD & I** What about cleaner/nicer?

Is Stovall's worth the extra $28 per night?

Have you checked into the Howard Johnson? That is the only off-property hotel I would stay at again.

I love it there, HoJo ~ but I'm spoiled by the ent rate, really won't stay there without it.

That's a great question. I've never stayed in either. I believe the Motel 6 has been remodeled so I would find that interesting, but Trip Advisor seems to favor Stovall's for the most part. (I'd personally just take a taxi for your luggage regardless.)

Between the two I vote for Stovalls, if it's the best western on Katella. They recently, last year, renovated it's pretty decent for a motel. And the rooms closer to the road have some nice views of DCA, the Mickey fun wheel and screamin'. We stayed there last June.
They also have a free brekki if you like those never ate their so I have no opinion on the food
