Where would you have dinner?

I would go with either BB or CCTR, both are in the parks, both are memorable and great experiences. I've been to CCTR twice, great service both times, great food both times, the second time I was with a group of 15, our server was amazing and I don't think it took 2 hours. BB I've been to many times, I've always been able to get a waterside table, you just have to be willing to wait.
The wine list at CCTR is great! I wish BB had wine as well.

Wow everyone, thank you for the responses. :thumbsup2 :goodvibes No wine with dinner might be a deal breaker for DH especially with such a long park day...

If this is a deal-breaker, you need to determine so and rule out any restaurant inside DL. Don't even spend another minute thinking about them if DH must have a glass of wine. It won't happen inside any restaurant inside DL.

Now, if a napa Rose is on the table (hehe), that would be my choice IF price is not an issue. With 5 people, NR will get very pricey very quickly. Worth every single penny, but you will have quite a tab with 5 people.

I was going to say try BB since most of your family has never tried it and the atmosphere is great... and it's in DL. But with the wine thing, it sounds like you'd be happier leaving the park. I think Steakhouse 55 is far if it's your "commando" park day unless you are done in the parks. And Carthay and Storytells (and Napa Rose) are about the same distance for me (since you could have a hold up at the DCA turnstiles while they sort out all their issues with the photos), so I'd choose between them. Hope this helps a bit. ;)

:thumbsup2 That helps, thank you! I agree, Steakhouse is far for a commando day and it makes sense to stay inside Disneyland, or at the very least DCA, since I'm almost positive we'll be there as we'll start the day in DCA. Carthay looks good and I know we like Storytellers.

What's the photo holdup all about? :confused3

A good wine list would thrill DH. A Long Island would thrill me.

Wine isn't a total deal breaker but its preferred. Napa does look delicious. I should mention DH is a fabulous cook and while not picky, he loves In n Out, his standards are high. If the food is good, it's worth paying for.

There are lots of threads on here and reports that if you have a multi-day pass they need to take your photo. Apparently the process is not working well, and the lines to get in the parks are moving very slowly, even later in the day. It sounds like it's making park-hopping a challenge, as opposed to the quick walk across the esplanade that it has been in the past.

You can get both! :) If you like bubbly wines, try the Rosa Regale, same exact thing as Magicale, they just label it with the right name now. LOL ;) I had a bottle of that a few days ago with friends, yummy!! And there is a full bar downstairs so they will make you a Long Island with no problems. :)

Well frankly If you've got one day I'd think Steakhouse 55 is out, because its a ways from the parks. Storytellers and Napa Rose (even though GC is close, are still a bit away). I'd actually try to figure out which side you'd be in and select the restaurant that's there. Since you've got one day, I'd personally spend it in disneyland which leaves you with Blue Bayou. As been said above, try to get there a bit early to get a waterside table. No beer and wine at BB, is that a dealbreaker?

Monorail. Steakhouse 55 is back in play and the place I'd choose over all others if you're not in a hurry.

There are so many different dining options available that it makes it difficult to decide where to dine. As I look over the menus it makes for a tough choice, because everything always sounds so delicious. My all time favorite and favorite suggestion is the Blue Bayou.
Love the Tesoro Island Chicken and especially the Surf and Turf, I just wish that more than one lobster tail was served.
I wonder if your husband was to take a little flask with one of his favorite wines and
nonchalantly serve himself a bit of wine in one of the glasses at the table if that would be frowned upon by management? If I saw that I would not be judging.. to each his own.

~~ May everyone enjoy their dining endeavors ~~

~~ I love you Phil and you will forever be with me! Forever my very best and most special friend! I love you to no end. ~~

That's right. The info sounded vaguely familiar. I'd gladly take the photo headache to be going for longer than one commando day.

Yum! Thank you. I do enjoy bubbly.

Great point. I always forget about using the Monorail as transport. :thumbsup2

A flask. :rotfl: I'm sure some people do that. I wouldn't do it and wouldn't care if someone else did either but I'm guessing you and I are in the minority. ;)

Thank you everyone for all of the insights. :goodvibes

Ummmm....

In a place where there is very decidedly no alcohol sold, I don't think one would really need to wonder.

We'd never do this. I'm guessing people have and do. I'm sure management would rightfully throw a fit.

I received a crazy cool email tonight from a total stranger regarding dinner on 3/31. I'm a little too floored to say much other than kindness can come from out of the blue.

Naps Rose for food and wine. Skip the apps, they're not that great. For sides don't miss the roasted beets. Amazing. Yelp reviews, you'll see what I mean. :)

Ooh, I know what this means! You've got to go with this option. Amazing how nice people can be on this board.

Frowned on? For sure! Kicked out of the restaurant? Probably, maybe out of the park for breaking rules (no alcohol, no metal containers, AND you have had to sneak it through security). As much as I love a nice cocktail, it just isn't worth all that to me.

Yes, this is what I was thinking. There is no gray area here, it is quite black and white, with Disney having made their position quite clear. It's not a concert (I sneak flasks in to those all the time) or a venue that serves alcohol. You aren't just trying to avoid price gouging, you are breaking the No Alcohol, except in Club 33, in DL rule. I wouldn't do it.

But, now it seems, this is irreverent to the OP, as it won't be an issue with their new invitation, they have liquor there.

Awww, and that's what makes the DISBoards members so amazing. Lucky you! Need a guide? (100% joking!!!). What wonderful kindness from someone out there. Yay!

That is fantastic! Enjoy and post pictures ;)

Your list was missing Napa and Catal tho. Love love love Napa Rose, havent tried Catal or Steakhouse 55 tho. Maybe on the next kid free trip! Also Ralph Brennans has great atmosphere and yummy food.

A lot of these threads often have replies of well that place costs too much. Were from Canada so a McDonalds trip for our family of 4 can cost $30 +and a typical chain restaurant like Olive Garden we would be $100+ for a simple dinner! So I certainly don't have a issue paying the prices in Disney mostly they are comparable to what we pay when we dine out at home, which is rare because the service just doesn't compare to Disney or really any Restaurant in the US!

Have an amazing dinner!

Very cool! Sounds like your DH may be having a glass of wine in DL after all...

ummm yes, this would be frowned upon and they could be ejected from the park, why would anyone take that chance? :scared1:
