Where would you go for a girls weekend?

As a Christmas gift from my husband, I am trying to plan a girls weekend for late April/early May. My DH will pay for the accommodations and everyone will pay their own airfare. This is something my friends & I have been trying to do for about a year and a half but it just never gets planned.

So, I need some ideas on where to go. We will be coming from MA so I want something warm. We are not crazy party people but would love a beach bar or somewhere fun to hang out. Would love to be on the beach and would love somewhere we can just park our car for the weekend and walk or ride bikes. We'd like to keep airfare under around $350 and don't want to fly for more than 4 hours. Open to a small or big resort as long as there is something to do at night. Would love some fun activities during the day too although sitting in a lounge chair with a cocktail could be very appealing as well.

Would love specific resort suggestions if possible. Thanks!

We are looking at St Thomas for a girls's weekend. We will most likely be leaving from Boston as they had decent airfares. Bermuda is also a good choice out of Boston.

we rent a condo on the beach in Myrtle Beach every year for our girls' weekend (4 days/3 nights).

Wow, the grass is always greener....I live someplace warm, so I would go someplace else.

If I lived near you i would go with my girlfriends to Canyon Ranch berkshires and hike and canoe an bike, and have delicious meals and then have massages and body treatments and hot tubs!

The Casa Marina Resort in Key West is lovely, relaxing, has a pool bar that I think serves food, they have restaurants, and a private beach. Key West is small and pretty walkable. The flights might be annoying - you have to switch to a small plane.

Puerto Rico - DH & I are thinking about going here in the spring. I don't have any hotel recs.

Bahamas - is pretty close too. The only resort I know about there is Atlantis but have heard mix reviews on the service.

I am a big fan of Wyndham resorts - the rooms, service and ammenites have been superb.

Beach, $350 airfare from Boston, weekend...that would be Bermuda, imho. It won't be hot but it's pretty and they have taxis and drinks. Good shopping, low key nightlife. Nassau, the Atlantis might do the trick. Casinos, warmer beach, taxis.

Even if you aren't crazy, Las Vegas is a blast! You will have GORGEOUS pools, amazing people watching, wonderful shows, and fantastic food.

Why not save the airfare and go to either CT or RI beaches. IMO the RI beaches are nicer.
In CT, you can go to Mystic Seaport, Mystic Aquarium, or Clinton Crossings (outlet shopping)
In RI you can take the Block Island Ferry over to Block Island.
I'm sure there are many other attractions in both states as well.
The beaches in both states are close enough to Mohegan and Foxwoods Casinos for night life.
Plus, the time that you are looking, for the hotels are less expensive.

I'd say Mexico! Since your DH said he would pay for accomodations, All inclusives are probably out...LOL

I would look for something in either Puerto Morelos or Isla Mujeres.
both fairly close to the airport for a quick trip!

I third Key West ... there are many places to stay on the island. We stayed at the Double Tree and it was away from the party happenings in town (which wasn't what we wanted, but it ended up working out) The beaches are "meh" at best, though I'm spoiled from visiting Anna Maria often (the water in the Keys was murky and full of seaweed. There was also a smell of rotting seaweed that I can't really put into words.) The beauty of it was that we in no way saw the entire island, so I'm sure there were prettier beaches to be had, this was just the one we ended up on for a wedding.

You will have to catch a connecting flight on a puddle jumper. We flew in from Tampa (we live here), but I think Ft. Lauderdale and Miami are the only other Florida airports with direct flights. We didn't have a car down there at all and it was fine ... we did take taxis back the one night we stayed out super late, but other than that our hotel had a shuttle than ran through the island.

I think JetBlue just started flying direct from Boston to Charleston. Charleston always seems like such a nice place for a girls trip!

I love Charleston for weekends with GF's or DH. It's a 2 hour drive for us so we go at least a couple times a year. Great hotels, amazing restaurants, good variety of shopping and some nice spa's are all walkable downtown. If you want mainly beach time, stay at Isle of Palms but definitely get a taxi and do an afternoon in downtown Charleston. Late April/Early May will usually be good for sitting on the beach, but don't go near the water yet, it'll still be COLD!

Amelia Island. I did an event at the Ritz Carlton Amelia Island and was blown away, it is absolutely beautiful.

Ever thought about Napa Valley? I went there for a girls weekend, ate great food, went on wine tours, if was so much fun! :)
