I am looking for another opinion... I am staying at the Boardwalk Villas for 5 days in December. And Am currently booked in a 1 bedroom for the weekend At the WLV. This is costing me 90 points. If I took a pool/view room at AKL. for the same 2 nights it would be 106 points. Is it crazy to consider the switch from a one bedroom to A standard room? By the way the cast of Characters is me, mom, an 8 year old DS. And 2 year old twins. we have never stayed at Wilderness Lodge before, We have stayed at AKL. Is it possible using points to request an upgrade to Concirege, Assuming it is available. Any advice?

stay with VWL - with that bunch having access to the MK is a necessary....

IMHO, if you're not getting a savannah view room, don't bother going to AKL. With the new points chart, you can book a concierge room (with a LOT more points) so I don't think an upgrade would be very likely. If you got an upgrade, it would be to a savannah view only most likely.

I love AKL and probably my second favorite is VWL, but to really get the AKL experience you have to have the animal view. Stick with VWL. You'll have more room and direct access to MK.

At AKL in Dec, thru the 19th, would be 46 points per weeknight and 83 for weekends in a Concierge room.

I think I'd just enjoy VWL and it's proximity to MK.

Thanks for your replies. If I decided to do AKL... is is possible to do a cash upgrade to concirege level. If I have secured a pool view room in Points? I guess thats what I meant to say the first time. ;) I am very excited about WLV. I just have never been further than artist point. So I am unsure what to expect. I have to admit the 1 bedroom is soooooo much better than a standard room. The only reason I am considering this, Is my little ones so love AKL. Does WLV offer any resort activitys for the kids? Thanks in advance!

They used to do that, based on availability at check-in and it can't hurt to ask, but that is part of the reason they included Concierge rooms in the point charts.

Yes, there are activities at all DVC resorts. A complete list of available programs will be provided at check-in at the resort.

Good Luck!
