Ok so which would you choose for a holiday in February? Both destinations would be all inclusive and a similar price.

Hiya Claire.
I have experience of both, and imo they are so very different.
I think a lot would depend on who is travelling and what you are looking for in this holiday.
Maldives is very idyllic, you do nothing all day except snorkel, watersports, eat, drink and swim. Truely beautiful but I kinda got itchy feet after 4 days, I didnt actually want to go anywhere but felt restricted because I couldnt, if that makes sense.
St Lucia, having spent time travelling a number of the carribean islands, is one of my favourites. You can still explore the island fairly safely, unlike Jamaica etc if you fancy seeing a bit of the culture and theres plenty to see
We hopped on board the actual ship they use in the Pirates of Carribean films, which the kids thought was amazing stepping in the same footstep as "the real" Jack Sparrow.
The biggest tip I could give you though is to get air transport which ever destination you choose. Be it airboat in the Maldives or a helicopter in St Lucia. Both will be sat waiting for you as you land, and your luggage will follow by road transfer or boat depending on destination. In St Lucia, all the accomodations are at the opposite end of the island and the road transfers take forever, and believe me you feel every pot hole there is and theres plenty.
Feel free to ask any questions
