Where will Rosie Roam in 2013. Day 2 Epcot updated 10/14

After out Hair pin bend trip we started looking for somewhere to eat !!! I couldn't believe we had such a hard time , finally we found a small place which was realyy more like a Pizzeria that you ordered at the counter but they had a lot of choices and it wasn't bad .Thestaff were very helpful and brought our food over to us !!

Have no idea wat this is :confused3:rotfl2:

An Alfredo[pasta

Think this is Chicken parm.:confused3:goodvibes:lmao:

Think this was a calzone

Tis is definitely a Sub!!!:rotfl2:

How's that for food porn:rotfl2::rotfl2:

The Von Trapp family hotel looks like an interesting place, but I would have never come up with that answer I don't think. I have tried watching The Sound of Music a couple of times, but could only hang in there about long enough to know.......it was about the Von Trapp family, and......... they were in Austria. :rolleyes1

To be honest I don't think in one shot I have watched it all

;):rotfl2: But it is VERY popular with the MR population !! Just like Elvis is !!!:confused3 They all new who the Van Trapp's were and all about te Sound of Music !!!

Great food porn, Rosie. Now it is time to go heat up my leftover chicken from last night for lunch. :)

The next day we were going to The Farm!!! I had located one much closer that the one P & P had said to go to !! Shelborne Farms is very close to where we were staying and was a lot of FUN!!!I had found coupons for $2 off our entrance fee and along with the senior discount ( okay Marv yes I ot that one ):rotfl2: It turned out to be very reasonable

We waited for

And climbed aboard

Aview from our Tractor ride , I believe it was the Farm House

We were droppd off at The Barn. First sop the wood shop

Sorry can't get this to copy in the rotate version, so all turn your heads !! :rotfl2:They had samples of different woods and what they made out of them, The woodshop itself was closed but we could peer in and see all the tools etc

Heading into the Barn we saw this Lady

Everyone say Aaah!!!

Carol was into it oo:rotfl2:

Couldn't resist

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Then after having the milking process explained and how much milk each cow gave daily we ......

Stay tunes for more Barn Yard fun!!!

Rosie, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

I love farms and stuff...as long as I don't have to clean them out. We have a children's zoo and they used to let you pet the cows, but not anymore.

The Farm was a lot of fun !!! I actually milked gots many years ago , so was quite good at Cow milking::yes:::rotfl2:

Fun update, Rosie!
That tractor trip looks like it was a lot of fun. And you did well on the food porn! :rotfl2:

As for the Von Trapp Family. Yes, they were Austrian, but so far NO one I have spoken to here in Austria, has seen the "Sound of Music" :lmao: and cares for the Von Trapp family

I remember seeing the Sound of Music on TV here in Germany at some time. But it really is not very well known at all. And then when I had American friends who kept talking about it, I got it out on video and read a little bit about the von Trapps.

I know the story is beloved in the US, but I can't help feeling like they were indeed very smart in the way they marketed themselves.

We actually saw (lets say usually SEE it at some time every year) on TV at WDW. :rotfl2: I remember the original movie with Maria Leuwerik as Maria. I think that was from the 50s. :lmao:

Fun thing, that whenever we say we are from Austria in the US, first thing they tell us is that they have seen "Sound of Music". Funnily enough no one here seems to remember it, or care about it.
They did a perfect ad for Austria, without us Austrians being aware of it. :lmao:

Sorry for hijacking your thread, Rosie. :wave2:

The Tractor ride was a lo of Fun !!! I think most people here think of Julie Andrews , when they think of the Von Trapp's:rotfl2:The Lodge nd the view are still magnificent !!!

I really know what you mean !! People frequently talk to me about Benny Hill and how funny he was !! While he had some following in England most of us thought he was awful and then he comes to America and is a HUGE hit !!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

A Day on the Farm continued ....

The Chicken Coop

More goats

And Bunnies

Sadly we left the Farm after checking out the cheese shoppe and gift store !!

We headed back to Bennington and passed an interesting restaurant that we ended up going back to for supper .The Publyk House

Note the view thru the window !! The restaurant wa really super

They had a sald bar that came with the meal

Entrees were great

This was a special pasta dish

Meatloaf was a popular choice

!!

Thanksgiving anyone !!!

Shrimp dish

Liver and onions ( would have been my second choice )

My shrimp dish

A stuffed chicken dish

Fish & Chips

This was a wonderful last meal !!

And so our trip ended . The journey home of course involved getting lost a couple of times but once outta Vermont we were fine !!!:goodvibes:rotfl2:

I can now start the next Rosie Roaming which is coming up in10 days !!!!

In the lobby they had a piano that played itself which was a BIG HIT!!

Next on my Roaming List

Our first stop will be Presque Isle

http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m135/chaos_girl1302/WV and surrounding areas/erie.jpg

We have aHarbor cruise booked , after which we will check into the Wingate by Wyndham!!!. Then it is off to Supper. Will it be Steak & Shake , or Golden Corral or maybe Quaker State !!mmmmmm

After supper we will spend theevening here

Not me :(:scared1::rotfl2:

Then it is back to the Hotel for our only night !!!

That petting zoo looks like a lot of fun and the view out the restaurant window is awesome!
Oh, love the food as well. ;)

But I need to tell you that the trip to Vermont was FAR too short. ;) :lmao:

Great plans for your next trip. Is it anothre P&P trip? And one more question ...........

Are you EVER home? :rotfl2:

Somebody has been doing some major updating.

First of all - major, MAJOR food porn on this page. :cool1: Everything looks so yummy!

I love your farm pictures. I was just at the Delaware state farm last week and posted a picture on FB of a cow seriously in need of milking. Yikes!

I have never been to Erie PA. The pictures look beautiful. Sounds like a great trip in the works.

Well, darn!!! Just lost an entire post!!:confused3

I have a whole lot of catching up to do on every thread I follow...sure miss everyone. :goodvibes. One would think wearing this boot (it is like wearing a bowling ball on your foot) that I'd have lots of time to read...nope. Where does the time go??

Bet you could guess that I would have recognized the Von Trapp Lodge and that I've watched the movie many times over the years - although I never watched it again after reading Maria Von Trapp's autobiography and hearing Julie Andrews say how much she did NOT enjoy making the film. :sad2:

LOVED the monastery scenes (completely unrealistic) and the music. :cloud9:

Well, now I am out of time so will have to catch up later. Great pics of the food porn and the farm, Rosie!! :cool1: That winding narrow road sounds like the one in Italy when we went up to Monte Cassino in a bus when on pilgrimage. Our guide (amazing young woman) warned us that if anyone had a fear of heights it would be best to sit in an isle seat and not look out the window.:scared1:
