They are a wonderful couple !!! This is their second trip with us and they are already planning one for next year !!

So glad they found each other. They must be a special couple.

Patty also came to Albany with me last year!!!We are getting quite the following of guys who want to go with us !!!

I did that cruise across Lake Champlain when I was a little kid. The boat looked a lot bigger then. It really is a beautiful area and your TR is making me want to take a trip up there.

Next was Ben & Jerry's Factory !!! I really enjoyed the Tour here !! While we didn't actually see ice cream made they showed us all the steps and then we got a sample !





We just had to get a dish after the delish sample !!!

A short distance away was another fav!!!



Man did they have samples !!! Prices weren't to bad and I bought a couple of bricks !! The Chipotle Cheese was the best and Kyle LOVED it!!!!
Next we found the Cider store I actually think WNY cider is better but it was fun looking around

Outside was a nice area to sit and relax and we did







Our next stop was not on the itinary BUT probably will be next year

Yes I too have visited the area before many years ago and it really is beautiful!!I did find out just recently that MapQuest directions can really suck!!I am wondering if that was part of the problem as Carol had mapquest and I had AAA but neither seemed to help!!!

Well I have to admit I prolly uldn't have known it was there and so close ,ifone of the guys hadn't told us!!!!

Ding Ding we hae a winner !!! Yes it is indeed , it is gorgeous , the view is breathtaking , the VanTrappes said it reminded them of Austria !!The grounds are just beautiful and the Hotel is magnificent .

Never been to Vermont, so as usual........I am clueless???

Well I guess Magdalene may have had a little advantage , seeing as she I much closer to Austria and the VanTrappes homeland than you are Marv!!!

Inside they had lots of memorabilia of the VanTrappes and lots of pix !!! It wa really special !!!
After leaving we decided to drive around the LOOP going back to ShelburneThe road got narrower and the turns got sharper , as in Hair Pin bends Carol was not a Happy Camper ad then we saw the sign that said ROAD NARROWS < NO CENTER LINE Any who she made it and we headed back to Shelburne!!! Stay tuned

I had missed you Karin !!!!Th Von Trappe Lodge and the view was sooo reminiscent of my trip to Austria !!! I would LOVE to actually stay there !!

I live in Vermont anave never been there. I have been to Shelburne and often go to Burlington shopping. I would love to take the Ethan Allen cruise on Lake Champlain.

I live in Niagara Falls and hardly ever go to the Falls !! The Ethan Allen Cruise is very nice and we enjoyed the lunch too, it wasn't outrageous in price and had a nice selection,. The cruise itself is about 1 1/2 hours

The Von Trapp family hotel looks like an interesting place, but I would have never come up with that answer I don't think. I have tried watching The Sound of Music a couple of times, but could only hang in there about long enough to know.......it was about the Von Trapp family, and......... they were in Austria.
