I was born in Sibley Hospital in Washington DC. I live in MD outside of DC but still couldn't find my way around downtown if my life depended on it.

I used to work at Sibley Hospital in the late 60's early 70's as a nurse's aide. ANd no I can't find my way around downtown DC and never could. Glad I live in Florida now. Remember Glen Echo?

Just a little history lesson ....Queen Kapiʻolani established the Kapiʻolani Maternity Hospital for disadvantaged Hawaiian mothers and mothers-to-be. It has evolved into the Kapiʻolani Medical Center for Women & Children. It's ironic because I was born at a hospital held in trust for native women and I hope to work for a trust one day.

Good Samaritan, Portland Oregon. My mom read that the floor that was the maternity ward is now a nursing home. She said "you could die where you were born." umm, ok, mom.
