Back in 2002, my husband and I had the rare opportunity to spend the day hopping around from park to park without our (at the time) 2 yr & 4 yr old girls. :lovestruc It was one of those beautiful sunny 80 degree January days when the parks were empty & we could just go from park to park & ride to ride with not a care (or person) in the world! Around lunch time, we found ourselves in Epcot & we went to Japan. We walked into a couple of different restaurants looking for a casual & cozy place to enjoy some sushi. We ended up having the best sushi ever in this low-key little bar in Japan. It may have been part of a bigger restaurant, but I really don't remember??

Now our girls are older (they will be almost 11 & 13) - we think they would enjoy going there ....and we have been dying to get back.....but I have no idea what the name of this place was? The majority of the room was a bar - there may have been a couple of small tables (again, I don't remember - I guess it was the magic of the day :cloud9:- I was kind of oblivious?!)

Anyone know where we were??

Upstairs in the Japan pavillion there was the teppanyaki restaurant (ADRs, and the old name escapes me) and a small sushi restaurant/bar accross the hall that required no ADRs. I bet this is the place.

Alas, it is no more. They redid the upstairs retaurants, and now have Teppan Edo (the current teppanyaki one) and Tokyo Dining, which is more sushi & tempura oriented. We actually like Toyko Dining over Teppan Edo, and your family might like that one, but it is a large restaurant now, no separate bar area and not so intimate. Both restaurants now take ADRs.
