Since I don't have the power to bring "the thread" back, I figured we could do a quick summary and go on from there. ::yes::

 • Mr. Plutonium asked a completely innocent question about whether the Dizpins site was down.
 • All heXX broke loose.
 • Hundreds of banned former moderators stepped forward to testify! (OK, maybe it was only five or six.)
 • DIS moderators reported their posts were deleted even when not controversial.
 • Stephan reported that banning had spread to other continents.
 • Michael reported that the price of reinstatement was actually unattainable.
 • Catchy nicknames like "Nemesis," "NO'Hana," and "Queen Bee" were bandied about.
 • A spy appeared in our midst.
 • The voice of the people could not be silenced.
 • And then Manny and Heather were bad, and Nat had to smack them.

Does that about cover it?

I agree!
Let's start fresh...

Who's first to make fun of,
completely rip on, or share
your array of experiences
with El Site de Ohana,
and it's unfortunately
fearless leader The Queen
Bee Grandma...

Manny's mischief disclaimer:
See, this is a new post, not
the original post I promised
I wouldn't post to any longer!

So let's go! Who's first!?

If you are banned from "that" board:

Can you still read the board?

What is stopping you from creating a new userid?

Are you banned from all EZ-Boards?

Are they blocking your IP address?

Hi Robyn,

I'm an administrator and moderator on Dizneypins which is an ezboard message board and I can answer a few of your questions.

Can you still read the board?

You should still be able to read the board even if you're banned. This does not effect your browser.

What is stopping you from creating a new userid?

You can create a new userid if your IP address is not blocked and if you have a different email address. Ezboards now only allows one user name per email address.

Are you banned from all EZ-Boards?

The only way you can be banned from other ezboards is if those particular boards ban you. An administrator only administers the board they are in charge of. They cannot affect the outcome on other boards no matter how much they want.

Since I used to post there from all the computers at
work AND both my systems at home, along with
occasionally from moms and Scotts...
I'm blocked out via IP, so I have NO way of gaining
access to post things!

My friend tried to make a new account using all of
her information, but did it from my computer, and
she is blocked out now, just because she used my
IP addr...

It is not like I NEED to post there...
It makes me sick to read all their "I am wonderful"
"He/She is wonderful" posts....

unless it is Disney operations, cruise or PINs related
I don't read the post!

this board is MUCH more fun! and much nicer people!

I read "that" board occassionally, but not often.

I've been a member of that board since . . . probably late 2000, early 2001. And yet, it was never my home.

Over the last year, I've posted there less and less, for two reasons.

First of all, no posts of mine were ever noticed, answered, or commented upon. It was as if I was invisible. :earseek:

Secondly, lately, I have refrained from posting because of the underlying "risk." Anything and everything that you wrote could be held against you.:smooth:

I just don't need this type of anxiety from my pinlife. Pins keep me sane. Pins are my escape. My pinpals are my safety net. ::yes::

Boy, I miss all the good stuff.
I saw that post but never bothered to open it because frankly I don't care if ***-**** is working or not.
But now I don't know what happened. Plan on filling me in tonight in chat. Peggie

The fact that the OHANA is more like MAFIA reference. That was very true. You cant post your views -- they have to be like "grandmas" or you may get banned. There is a WHOLE clique over there that doesn't make people feel welcome.

Many of the past moderators that had posted mentioned that the put them in the fore front and made them fight the battles while she takes the credit. Its VERY disturbing -- because people trust her and believe that whole game they put on over there.

Let me tell you a story about my first experience with Dizpins. I went to the first september event and I really knew NO ONE. Corey and I participated in the whole event without really meeting anyone and doing it completely on our own -- I was VERY NEW to pin trading and quite shy. I remember reading that they were trading their pin away for a rack pin and when I asked someone they pointed "grandma" out to me. I waited for an oportunity and went over and asked if she would trade a pin to me. I explained that I visited her site and was appreciative of its information. She never looked me in the eye (this is very telling to me) she was very rude, looked at my pin and sighed and then handed me one and walked away. Not so much as a thank you, never even ACKNOWLEGED ME. I was very upset about this. This was pretty much my first experience with another trader. I hadnt even traded with anyone else -- ever.

This is how their board is run, if you can bring something to the table, you will be treated well. The minute you are no longer useful, you no longer matter. There are people there whose lives revolve around that board (Luckily, I was not one of them) and one day they will be very hurt by that very board.

One time their "leader" was showing her feathers and trying to win points with Disney by pointing out pins that were boarderline bootleg -- so I pointed out pointed out that their Topiary stitch pin was boardering on being a bootleg and she banned me. Six months later I requested reinstatement, I was told I hadn't expressed remorse to their "leader" by one of her blind moderators.

I hope people value that this board allows diversity in opinions and how important that is in a board that people look to for honest information.

Michael

And what has this to do with pins or pin collecting I ask you? Boy that one never gets old. :teeth:

Forget it you people live and let live let it go give it a rest, do something funny for the love of 60's music.

Me thinks there is too much bitterness in the world as it is.

Come on people smile at your brother everybody get together gonna love one another right now!!! See now that was funny

One last thing to kill this thing cause its getting old.

And the man asked Jesus so how many times should one forgive his brother 7? And Jesus said 7 times 70 would still not be enough.

Goodness you all made quote the bible what next. :teeth:

Seriously kids move on. go home bake a cake send me rice. And don’t attack me I have friends in high places. :teeth:

No I'm not a spy, yes I post in all boards I'm an equal opportunity poster... yes I love everybody, and Manny is my brother. And everybody goes you know where for pin information so phhfftttt.

The only one ticked with me right now is Michael cause of my first comment, but he started it. :teeth:

I win.

Love you Mean IT!!!!!

Again, all I can say is I missed it!

Oh, one more thing to say:
quote from Michael "I was VERY NEW to pin trading and quite shy."
Michael, you? shy? I know you better than that. I can't imagine you being shy.

The only problem I ever had with that other board is when I did the pin swap I always invited all three of the pin boards I read to participate. Every time I did the swap I had quite a few from that particular board who failed to send the pins even though they had received pins. I sent out more pins to people who didn't receive pins to cover for the halfway participants. I stopped doing the swap for a while but I am starting to get the swap bug again. But that group runs their own swap now so I won't involve them again. Peggie

Okay... Now I know I have seen enough.. I agree with Ed. We know we have all had trouble on that other site. I found the best way to move on. I don't even look at it anymore. I have to say Ed is right.

Forget it you people live and let live let it go give it a rest

Oh and I want to thank you Ed... This will be in my head for most of the day...

Come on people smile at your brother everybody get together gonna love one another right now!!!

How Cow!

Ed quoting the bible?? :earseek:

Nat agreeing with Ed?? :earseek:

Nat singing cheesy oldies???? :scared1:

must.. get.. images.. from my mind!!!

Anyway, lets all move on to the next level - erasing your bookmarks to that site, forget about them, email all your friends with this address and pull up a chair and get comfy and lets have some fun WITHOUT them!

Oh, and Michael... teaches you to pick them over a Great Pin Adventure! ;)

(Oh for pete's sake - this is Lauri posting under Matt's name. Stupid mutant cookie!)

Yes, I definately have moved on. I am glad that I did not let my first pin trading experience cloud my enthusiasm for collecting pins. (I think Disney is too given how much money I have spent on it!) I have made some wonderful friends from this hobby and I am glad that I did not get involved with the wrong group.

And yes Peggie, I was quite shy when it came to pin trading. It was very overwhelming seeing everyone trading and talking. I was intimidated by it because I knew very little about it.

Although I had been on the DIS for many years, I visited the resorts board regularly before coming to the collectors board a few years ago. I am glad that I did because here, I have been very lucky to have made some really WONDERFUL freinds here and have had wonderful times because of it. You know who you are!

And Ed quoting scripture???:

And the man asked Jesus so how many times should one forgive his brother 7? And Jesus said 7 times 70 would still not be enough.

Is this the same person who pressed his naked cheeks up against the window at Palo while we enjoyed a 5 star meal?

This IS the same Ed right?? :jester:

So...................in the vein of moving on, we come back to Robyn's
"Discburp" Campaign--we have to work to keep our board fun and active............one thing the other board has going for them which I think is part of the reason people make sure they "toe the line" is that they have a very well populated and active board. Let's be honest, that there has been a period of time where our posts were like glued in place because nobody is posting replies, and nobody is posting new threads, and nobody is trading on the trade board, and so we were stale and boring, and people migrated over there, and new people might not even know about us.

It takes work to keep the board active, and this thread has probably gotten the most attention of any in a long time.

I think this thread was/i important--the reason being, that people do invest their feelings into these boards and the people on the boards mean something to them, so when they are banned there really is pain involved, and to work through that pain the injured person needs to talk about it, and have others empathize and tell them they know how it feels. We do not have to get down in the mud though....(Manny and Heather!!!) Yes, I know that might be fun, but it gets you deleted, so I know you have learned your lesson, LOL!

Ed. love of my life, since we know the new you could never be banned from any board, thou has no memory of what it means to have hurt feelings, hence your question, "what does this have to do with pin collecting?"---or is that just to irritate Michael?

So, back to my original point of this rambling post, keep up with your posts on the Dis board so nobody wants to go anywhere else!!

  :earseek:  :wave2: ::yes:: :Pinkbounc :jester:
