Where we ate during Ivan

We (husband, me, nine year old) evacuated from the Panhandle last week for Ivan. (We were fortunate and came home relatively minor damage).


Anyway, we were there Tues-Sun

-- Pastamore at Universal wonderful meal after being on the road all day. We love this place.

-- Boardwalk Bakery for sandwiches. Good, but not great sandwiches.

-- Crystal Palace at the MK. This was good again but I think we're just getting to the point where we don't like buffets as much as we used to. We don't like them at home either.

-- Marrakesh. This was a great meal. My nine year old loved it and can't wait to go back.

-- Coral Reef. On the other hand, this was a terrible meal. Overpriced average food.

-- food court at SSR. We had heard various levels of complaining from fellow DVC'ers but I have to say we honestly really enjoyed our meal here.

-- food court at POR. We had several nice meals here. I think POR is our new favorite moderate resort.

Can I ask what you had at Coral Reef?Everytime DW and I think we will give it a try I see a bad review.

Oh No!! My DH wants to try Coral Reef , he thought the kids might like the fish tank.

Glad to hear you liked the SSR food court. We are staying @ SSR next and I was beginning to wondr if we should even bother.

Do they serve Breakfast, lunch, and dinner @ SSR?

We feel the same way about Coral Feef. It's a nice place, the tanks are way cool! Even had divers in the tanks when we were there and they were interacting with the kids. However, the food was too over priced! We can say, been there done that, but I don't see us going back. thanks for all your reviews! I have read them all!

I had the Mahi Mahi grilled. It was dry to be honest and the portion was pretty small. I really like mahi mahi in general. Unfortunately, my kiddo had the same thing (dh had left by then). We also had a pretty bad citrus cheesecake. We didn't have good service. And the prices are just high - even for WDW where I usually don't blink.
