We tried some different places this trip and went to some that we had enjoyed in the past. This is what we found...
50's Prime Time...just okay. We loved it in 2001. Dh's steak was tough and not tasty. My pot roast was okay. Server was not very attentive. Had to ask several times for the check and then waited quite a bit to get it. Made us late for Fantasmic.

CRT...Dd had an okay time. Food just passable. Won't be doing it again.

Chef Mickey's...dinner was terrific. Character interaction was again wonderful. Didn't wait long to be seated.
Breakfast we actually got seated early!! Good food, great characters. My dh really loves this place!!

Liberty Tree Tavern....nice atmosphere, so-so food. Not bad, just not great. But we would go back.

Plaza Pavillion...ate here several times. Not bad in a pinch. Not a great selection tho.

Donald's Breakfastasaurus....loved it!!!! We had a 10:00 seating on an EE day. It was a great break from the heat/humidity. Food was excellent. And the characters were a hoot. Will certainly be going back.

Captain Cooks at Polynesian...not bad. Selection wasn't so great but what they have is pretty good. And not too crowded.

Garden Grill....good food and plenty of it. Liked the setting. Rehitching was cute but not great.

Polynesian Luau...good show, so-so food. Wouldn't go again.

Kona Cafe...great food. Loved the Tonga Toast.

The absolute best???? Artist Point in WL. The best meal we've had in a long time. And I mean not just in WDW!!! The service was wonderful. The atmosphere was wonderful. But the food was just out of this world. Dh had buffalo and said it was great. He doesn't like sweet potato but said he loved the sweet potato au gratin!! My Flat-iron steak was terrific. And the berry cobbler was a great ending. THis was our favorite meal.

I'm going to have to try the Tonga Toast at some point. Thanks for the reviews. Looks like your trips are like ours, every other year. We do that mainly due to budget restraints but I think it really gives you time to look forward to it more.

Thanks for the review........looks like I'm going to have to give in and try Artist's point! :)

My family is also a big fan of the "Tonga Toast"!!! We have to have breakfast at Kona Cafe at least once each trip!

My DH and I will be trying Artist Point for our last night of our vacation! Can't wait! We've never eaten here before (Two teen DDs didn't care for the selection - but the teens will be home this trip!!!) We will have my youngest DD, but she is requesting to go to the Kids Club that night! I think my DH would love to try the buffalo!

Can't wait!!!

thanks for the reviews:D dd and i will be at artist point the day of our arrival so glad to hear you enjoyed it so much. did you have lunch or dinner at LTT? we have a ps for dinner, we've been before but not since they changed characters and were wondering if both daisy and donald as well as meeko are currently still there.
thanks again
katypop:D

Katypop....we had dinner at LTT. The characters were Chip and Dale, Minnie, Meeko and maybe Goofy or Pluto ( I don't remember). No Mickey, Donald or Daisy.

Goofy4tink - Thanks for those reviews! Many of the places I've tried I would evaluate just as you have - LTT, Breakfastasaurus, Kona, Captain Cook's. I think you've just inspired me to change my "Artist Point or Whispering Canyon" bullet in my preliminary plan to "Artist Point". We've also not managed to try Plaza Pavilion yet - for some reason we're often near Pecos Bills around lunch time. Were the Italian stack sandwiches at PP good?

goofy4tink-glad you had some nice meals!

Sounds like you liked Donalds as much as we did! I thought it was a great buffet for the price.
We too will not do CIndy's again-been there, done that.
I know its cool to eat in the castle, but the food was gross. Our bacon wouldnt even have passed for cooked. When we plan our next trip, I wont be fretting over getting that PS.

Are you going through WDW withdrawals like me??

Which meal did you eat at CRT? I'm thinking of trying it for lunch.. but not sure.
