Where to write about bad experience?

In our bed bug experience we didn't have any swelling. I wouldn't really describe it as a rash either. They were distinct bites. Seemed to be a little smaller than a mosquito bite and itched terribly. My then 3 yr old itched so bad he formed scabs and then had scars for awhile but no swelling at all. Also bed bug bites will be more on your chest, shoulders, arms, neck rather than legs. The bugs don't live in the sheets, they live in the mattress seams, headboards, etc and will come out of hiding at night to feed. They will bite the areas most accessible above the covers. Less likely to crawl under the covers and get to the feet.

uh... now i'm worried... leaving next week. hopefully these are not at the dolphin :scared1:

right, I sleep weird. I do not sleep in the bed, I more sleep on the seems of the mattress if that makes any sense!! lol I always have to have a leg that is over the edge. And yes, I have swelling anyways in my legs from fluid, my bites were OMG, started out extremely itchy, and then it was a distinct bite and more like a red whole inside ! There is a red mark in the middle of the bite. and on me, the itching was awful, and I ice helped a little, but I had used Calagel.

Question:

If upon first arrival at your room you roll the bedcovers back and take your Maxi Pad (tm) and rub that along the sheets around the foot end of the bed and get brown or red or whatever streaks, doesn't that mean that the bedding was not changed since the previous guest slept there?

Question:

If you start taking flash photographs "of your family" in the restaurant, would someone acting grossly nearby stop doing so?

I don't mean to be insensitive rather just informative, from my hotelier background. There is a reason why hotels are reluctant to move people in this kind of circumstance. As the hotel, you are potentially moving the problem, in this case bed bugs, to a second room and thus a second cleanup.

Those bugs are very hard to get rid of and the first thing you do is containment of the situation. You don't want them to hitch hike in luggage, clothes, etc and they do. Same thing for anything that's communicative.

However, that said, I would expect my staff to deal with this in an understanding manner and explain the reasons and determine as best they could an appropriate way of helping out. If you didn't get that, then that's what you can complain about.

Can someone please tell me where to write about a BAD experience at POP last week? In bad, I mean, I am sure that my family was bitten by bed bugs, went to the front desk and they REFUSED to move us since we didn't actually SEE any bugs on the sheets. We all have bites and rashes and I am FURIOUS!! The front supervisor and CM was NO help. I asked when the manager was on duty - always the next day. Never there when I went down there. This is coming from a Dis'er who loves Disney and (use) to love POP. Help!

What building were you in at the Pop? Was it a refurb room? Hope you feel better soon. I once had a terrible trip as well. Stomach virus--yuck!

There is a very common rash that people get at Disney, usually on the lower leg, it is actually from the sun reflecting off the pavement, it doesn't look like a sunburn, but like bites or a rash.

OH-MY-GOSH!!! I had this, only I thought it was just hives or something along those lines! I itched like crazy and it was UGLY!!!! I just assumed I had an allergic reaction to the temperature change or something!!! Where can I find more information on this???

Google Polymorphous Light Eruption (PLE) I believe is what it's called.

I'm wondering if they aren't fire ant bites.

My wife just read about a great way to check for Bed Bugs (from a lady who’s husband was a hotel manager), I hope I do not offend.
You will need a Maxi Pad. First thing leave your luggage outside the door. Pull back the sheets, and expose the adhesive of the maxi pad, and rub it along the sheets and mattress at the foot of the bed. If you find red or brown dots (dried blood fresh and old) you have bug bites. Bring the Maxi Pad down to the front desk and show them. I think the Maxi Pad works two ways one it is solid proof, and secondly the manager will want to take care of the person waiving a maxi pad around the front desk.

Hope it helps in the future.

Ok, I almost spit out my iced tea when I read your comment about the manager not wanting someone in his lobby waiving a maxi pad! Very funny!

Did they look like any of these?

I had a complaint about the quality my room at OKW last November (not bedbugs though), and I didn't say anything while I was there becuase I don't like to complain usually, but it kept bothering me even when I got home.

So I wrote to Disney right through their website. I explained what good experiences I had had in the past, and just pointed out some things that I thought were disappointing about my room. I kept the tone very respectful.

I really didn't expect them to do anything, but they left me a voicemail telling me they were going to credit me for 20% of the cost of my room (and they did). Better than nothing!

BTW - this was just the tip of the iceberg for some bad experiences there this time. One other thing that sticks out is a young man (18 maybe) taking off his shoes and socks at Columbia Harbor House while eating and seeing him rub his sweaty feet. The smell of his feet did not go too good with our fish. The CM said there was really nothing they could do - REALLY?? This was at the table next to ours. We promptly moved
Disgusting as it is, they're right - the best action that could be taken is the one you did, that YOU move. The other customer was being crude and, again, disgusting.
