Where are the good spots to watch the Sail a Wave party? We'll be on the Magic, with kids. Is it important to be by the stage (eg. do little kids get invited up on stage or is there fun confetti to catch, etc.?) Or is it just as fun to watch from the upper deck?

go watch some YouTube embarkation videos, theres tons out there. Make sure you are watching The Magic ship, as the layout of the deck is different on the bigger ships. Theres videos from all perspectives, so you can make an informed decision about which location is best for you. A good spot for one family might not be enjoyable for your family.

They sometimes hand out sparkly streamers that you can hold...the CM's hand them out on Deck 9 and 10 on the Magic/Wonder. Don't know if they do this every cruise but I have seen it several times. We like to watch on Deck 9 to the side by the DJ.

For Sail-a-Wave on the Wonder two weeks ago, we watched near the stage on Deck 9. It wasn't terribly crowded, and they had reserved the pool area (with the cover over it, obviously) for kids. So we kind of hung back (like where the pool chairs normally are) and let my daughter go stand on the pool cover with the other kids.

It's worth noting that this only worked because they didn't do the runway/fashion show. According to David from the entertainment staff, they stopped doing that version of the Sail-a-Wave a couple months ago.

Unfortunately for the Magic this info isn’t terribly helpful but many ports, and Port Canaveral have webcams. At PC they actually follow a pattern of up the front of the ship to the upper decks and down the back. If you stand on the upper decks, starboard side your can watch your video later or wave to family/friends back home. The Miami webcam is too far from the ships to see an individual.

With kids I think up front, by the stage is best. Our first two cruises we stood up on deck 10. It just seemed too chaotic and crowded down near the stage. Then, for some reason we ended up on deck nine and it was not so bad. We now always get there a little early and stand by the stage. We have done this on both port and starboard. We just had some friends take their first Disney Cruise and I suggested they get up by the ropes. They all loved it. Enjoy your cruise.
