Staying in Ft. Wilderness in July. Where is the nearest place to transfer digital pictures to CD? Won't be taking computer. :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

Id like to know that too. We are staying at Pop Century and I wont be taking a computer either and I dont want to loose any of my pictures. Does anyone know the cost of this as well? :wave2:

You can have them transferred onto CD at Epcot at the Kodak store near the park entrance. I believe the cost is around $12.

If I'm not mistaken, you can also drop them off at the photo store at MGM near the entrance and they will send them over to Epcot for you. This option might be available in all of the parks, I'm not sure.

HTH!

Thanks for that info. I think that will be the best thing for me and then take the cd home. My brother owns a camera store and I can get them printed at his shop at a discount!! Yeah for me:Pinkbounc

They must come in a case to protect them or should I bring some of the jewel cases from home? :earsgirl:

at the MK at the photo gallery by Tony's Restaurant...another poster had a problem with it - when they got home, no pics on the CD.

So just make sure you check...or just bring extra memory cards/sticks:)

HTH!!

I'm not sure if they come in a jewel case or a paper sleeve since we decided not to use the option. Instead, we brought two memory sticks with us and swapped out halfway through the trip. I think paranoia got my DH when he started thinking about leaving his ($$) memory stick with with the minute possibility that he might never see it again...:p

I would die if they turned out not to have anything on the cd when I got home. I do have 2 memory sticks, dont remember how big they are off the top of my head, but I could always get another one. :wave2:

I think I'll get two 64 mb and go with that. There for 2 weeks. I hope there there is a location in MK. I seem to remember from last year that it was there. MK is closest for us. Thanks for the help. ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

We don't transfer images until we get home. We bought a huge memory card for 50 dollars, and also have 2 smaller ones we've collected over the years. Its worked for us every time.

There other posts in forums that say you can have this done at the MK for around $12 - $15 a cd. If you will have a car there, others have mentioned there is a drug store chain, wlagreens I believe, that will do cd transfers for about $4 a cd. You could search walgreens, cvs, or any other pharmacy chain for their closest locations to WDW.

fyi... check out ecost.com for great deals on memory cards! I found the best deal there, and they usually have rebates too! :teeth:

thanks I will try ecost.com now. I think if I get enough memory cards that I should be okay. I am a big picture hound so I know that I will want to take alot of photos. Dont want to miss a minute of the trip:hyper:

It's always good to have more than one memory card. I took 2-256mb cards during my April trip, and one crashed in the middle of MGM! Thank God for the other one! I take alot of pictures, and would have been devastated without the back up card! :(

Did you have your photos put on a Cd in the park or did you wait until you got home? I hear stories that some put theirs on a cd while at WDW and got home and nothing was on it. I just want to be sure that I get my pictures IF I decide to put the on the CD and free up more room on the camera.

I am new to the digital camera thing--how many photos can you take with the size of memory card?

I take about 130 "fine" (best quality setting) photos, on my 256mb card. I can't remember how many it holds, though. Then, I would go to Walgreens, download them on the machine, and within an hour, pick up my cd for 3.99. Actually, I didn't pick up the cd until the next day each time, so I wouldn't have to wait. They didn't keep my card, and I didn't have to wait and burn the cd myself, like some machines do. If you print any photos at Walgreens, the photo quallity is superb! I was amazed!

Also, when I picked my cd up each day, I put it in the photo machine, to make sure the photos were on there.

HTH.

Thanks for the ecost site, what great deals! I ordered a 32 mb, and 2 128 mb cards. Free Shipping. After rebate it will cost me $35. Amazing, I can't buy one card around here for that.

Sometimes there is a limit on your rebates (1 per address/month..), so read the fine print!

Wow that is alot of pictures. I think that I am going to look into getting a 256 mb card as well. I have 2 small ones that I can use as back ups, just in case. :hyper:

disneyfan551 - where is the Walgreens?

I have large enough memory cards but I like the idea of getting them on CD each day since I'm so afraid of having something freakish happen to the memory card & me losing my entire trip of photos!
I also like the idea that you can check the CD on the machine - Doesn't WDW allow you to view the CD before leaving to ensure that they are there???? For $12.99 vs $3.99 you should have some type of "guarantee" you got what you paid for!
