Where to take two first time WDW goers?

I have convinced two of my girlfriends to come with me and another friend to WDW for a few days. We are actually going to be hitting up spring training but will be staying at All Star Sports/ AKL. We'll be with them for 3 nights (only one with park tickets) and I want to take them to places that will stand out and make them love Disney! Any suggestions?

For some reason, we tend to take newbies to 50's Prime Time. Food is safe, and the atmosphere and servers (IF they bring their A-Game) make for a fun, unique experience. Just make sure your friends aren't the shy type and can play along.

Outside the parks? That's a bit trickier. I'm thinking some sort of character experience, 'cause where else are you gonna see Disney characters? My call would be 1900 Park Faire if that's the case... I think it's the best of the character buffets. Of course, the all-star lineup would be at Chef Mickey's, but you *might* not have the best food. But it is all Disney!

I'd try Raglan Road one night, too. Maybe Boma, since you'll be at AKL.

Thanks for the ideas.

CG does sound like fun with fireworks and drinks. I've actually never even been there myself!

Brown Derby, Restaurant Marrakesh, and Le Cellier are 3 of our family favs...they work for just about anyone...The signature dessert at Brown Derby (Grapefruit Cake) is phenomenal!

I would do one character meal. I have to agree 1900 PF is one of the best. I also hear breakfast at Cindy's is good, just hard to get into.
Cal Grill with the fireworks would be fun. Go sit at the bar and have appetizers and flatbreads, about an hour before the fireworks. They pipe in the music so you can watch it inside or go out on the deck.
Boma would be another unique experience for them.
Think about eating around the world at EC or lunch at the Coral Reef.
At the Studios I would do the Sci Fi or 50's PT.
Dont miss the electrical water pageant. We get a dole whip or a drink and bring it down to the Poly beach for the fireworks and the water pageant.

Another vote for California Grill during Wishes!!!! Nothing beats the food or the view:)

We love to take newbies to Sci Fi and '50's PT, since they are sooo Disney - but if you don't all have park tickets, that won't work.

I second (third? fourth?) the Cali Grill suggestion, make sure the fireworks are scheduled for the night you go and what time, so you can make your reservation accordingly. Ask for a window seat at check in, but even if you don't get it, the view from the deck is awesome! And the food is great there, love the sushi and flatbreads.

You could also do Whispering Canyon Cafe, very casual, quirky and fun, and something you don't get outside Disney.

The Boardwalk area is nice, you could eat at FF and do Jellyrolls after.

I love the Hoop Dee Doo at Ft. Wilderness - very Disney!

Too bad the Adventurer's Club is no more, that was a great place to take people who don't know WDW.~sigh~

Have fun!
