I will be going on my Disney Honeymoon from the 21 to the 27 of this June. Anyone have some good advice on where to stay?? We will be ona budget but I do want the room to be nice because we will probably be in it a lot. I was looking into the wilderness lodge since it is a lower priced deluxe resort. Also, does anyone have any ideas for saving money or special offers. I haven't seen many because I'm going during the peak season. Thanks a bunch.

Hmmm now are you sure you're gonna be in your room a lot - there's lots to see and do you know in WDW ;) ;) ?

I just recently stayed at the Wilderness Lodge and I have to say I found the room lovely and some of them have some great views. It's quite an idyllic, romantic resort.

Another lower priced resort is The Animal Kingdom Lodge - also very romantic ambience with the added advantage of the animals to view and there are certainly lots to do at the resort if you're spending lots of time there.

I'm torn between the two but if I had to make a decision on either it would be the Wilderness Lodge I think the spa's at night have a little more of a romantic feeling ;)

I haven't stayed at either the WL or AKL, but I hear great things! You may also look into the EPCOT resorts...BW, BC. I like those alot b/c EPCOT is my favorite...and if we go to dinner and have drinks, or wanna see Illuminations' fireworks from the balcony, its the best option (I dont do Disney commando anymore, I just come and go. I'm sure this is the method you are going for!)

You can save money a couple ways with deluxe resorts. Keep you eyes out for discounts like AAA (www.mousesavers.com), consider buying one AP to take advantage of AP codes. Also think about renting DVC points.

Renting points would be great b/c at $10/point, you can get a larger room at a deluxe at a lower price. For example, for your time frame, at a BWV - preferred view, the weekdays would be 14 points per night=$140 (really good). For the weekend nights it goes up to 32 points=$320 (not great, you could do better with codes probably). Overall, its $1200 which is $200 a night. This is for a studio, which has a kitchenette.

Anyway, there are options, so keep your :earsboy: on as codes for summer haven't come out yet!! And pop over to the DVC Forum if you want more info on renting...

Good luck and Congrats!

OH, I may get flamed, but I do not like the value resorts, expecially if you are looking for comfort and luxury on your Disneymoon. Stick to moderates and up (I say deluxe since you only honeymoon once!!)

So much depends on your budget and what amenities are a must and ones that are not as important. I think the WL is a great idea. We would be staying there, but we are planning an almost 1 year anniversary trip in Dec. I love the way the lodge is decorated during Christmas, so we decided to stay there next time rather than our Honeymoon. We are spending 4 nights in GF Honeymoon room. VERY expensive!!! Then moving on over to PO Riverside to make up for the loads of money being spent at the GF. Not that PO isn't beautiful! It truly is, but it's not as luxurious as the GF. So, my advice is to pick a budget number and make a list of things you want your resort to provide and another list of things that you would like to have, but could do without if neccesary, and go from there. I hope this helps some.

Your budget and personal taste are really what will help you decide, because the mods are very similar but with different themes, and WL and AKL are similar in many ways as well, including price. The deluxes and the moderates are all very nice--I'm with vettechick99 about the values. They're just not romantic. But they'll be good later when you take your kids and want an extra room, right? :) Another thing to consider is which parks you'll be visiting most.

I say you can splurge a little on your honeymoon. But I'm not telling you to go overboard and book a concierge deluxe if you don't have the $$!:teeth:

Have fun planning and don't stress over the small things. That's my general wedding advice!
