I! I just booked our kids first trip (ages 8 &7 at time of travel) :-) My husband and I have not been in about 10 years. Where do you like to stay? Why? Disney resorts are not in our budget. I would like some thing for about $100/ night, walking distance, with breakfast. We are going Oct 1-7

Thanks
Nicole

How nice do you want? We prefer something like Candy Cane. But DIS is closer and is pretty cheap.

Try the Anaheim Islander Inn! Great reviews on trip advisor and it's inexpensive. It's a motel, but it seems clean and it's a doable walk for us. We are staying there soon.

Where ever you decide, I recommend to book as soon as you can.
GayDays are October 3-5, if you wait too long you might have a challenge finding a place.

We're staying at Desert Inn & Suites. On our last trip we stayed at Peacock Suites thanks to a very generous gift from my Nan. However, it was really too far to walk after a full day in the park, and we swore that next time we'd choose one of the places directly across the road.

For us, it's location above all else. We only use the hotel as a place to sleep and shower and as long as it's clean, it doesn't really matter if it's not 'nice'. Free wifi is also important for us being international guests and not having access to any data plans. DIS just happened to be the cheapest of the lot! It also includes a free breakfast, but apparently it's not a great spread. Breakfast isn't important to us though, we're happy to just grab a muffin or something and eat on the go.

We did stay at Hojo for one night on our last trip, and were happy with that distance. The room and hotel generally were fine too, and a bit 'nicer'. I just didn't see the point paying extra for it on this trip.
