We're going to Disney as an add-on to our trip to Boca (which my husband has to go to for business) on 10/26/02. We'll get there Saturday afternoon and leave Monday afternoon. So I guess we'll just do MK on Sunday. We have a 2 year old.

What should we do on the other 2 half days?
Where should we stay?
Any must dos in mk?

Thanks a bunch for the advice!

MK with a 2 year old:

We have been to MK with a 2 year old twice. They seemed to love the characters, Fantasyland and the parades the best. Cindrellla's Suprise Celebration in front of the castle was a favorite last year. We would get to MK 30 minutes prior to opening and go directly to Fantasyland. We were able to ride Winnie the Pooh with Tigger and Goofy's Barnstormer with Goofy (if you are the first there you get to ride with a character). The only thing which they were afraid of was Buzz Lightyear (maybe because it's a little dark inside) and Haunted Mansion. They had a ball and it was magical to see their faces light up when hugged by a character (Cinderella's mouse in Mickey's Toontown Fair and Winnie the Pooh were favorites).

We also really enjoyed MGM with them. I don't know if you could fit that in on a half day?

As far as where to stay. We've only stayed at POFQ and CBR but have read a lot about the deluxes. I guess a plus to BWI and B&Y Club is that you could stroll the Boardwalk on your off park days and enjoy the pools. The plus to GF would be proximity to MK. Either would be magical! Hope this helped--have fun planning!

As far as things to do I have heard good things about the new Princess character breakfast, and there is always the character breakfast at the Contemporary which is supposed to be fabulous.

In regards of where to stay, I don't think you'll go wrong with any of your choices, but keep in mind that there is construction going on at the Boardwalk Inn and YC presently. I have heard that YC is pretty close to being finished. You might want to call down there direct to get an update. I personally love the YC and love the whole epcot resort area because you have the Boardwalk to entertain you on non-park days, plus you can walk to Epcot and even MGM, or you can take a boat to both. If you are planning to spend most of your time in MK area, then the GF is probably your best bet.

The MK is your best bet with a 2 year old. You might want to just do this park, at this age. MK has the most to offer, for little ones.

Musts at the MK is ALL of fantasy land! The Parade. Character Greetings.

As far as where to stay, it depends on your budget and what type of accomodations and how close to the a park.

Each Park as deluxe resorts in close proximity. I would suggest a MK resort, if you plan on going often to the MK. The Contempory, Poly and Grand Floridian are on the monorail too! Easy access to the MK. I suggest the Poly.

The next catagory is the moderate level, these are nice, but have no balcony, no inside hallways, room service, and beds are full size or 1 king. They are not close to the parks, like a deluxe but they are a short bus ride away.

The next catagory is value level these just like the moderates but rooms are very small. Not a bad deal, if all you are doing is showering and sleeping there.

We started taking our DD at 18 months, and until she was about 4 we only did the MK and Epcot. We would stay at the Poly, you can get to both parks via monorail.

My vote for where to stay with a 2 year old is GF because of the short monorail ride to MK.

Even though we love the BWI now, the Poly was the place for us the trip our kids were real young (3 and 6). MK was what they loved the most and riding the monorail was great. We could see the MK fireworks each night from our balcony. The Poly is very pretty at night, the kids loved those torchs they light. On one of the half days you could do the character breakfast right at the Poly then swim. I'm sure the GF would work nicely too!

I'd say stay at the Grand. Besides the fact that it will be the most convenient to the MK, I happen to like it the most of all the Disney resorts! :)

As for the MK must do's, I think everyone else has given great suggestions. What to do with the other 2 half days - what kind of tix are you getting? If you can, I'd say ... have a good look around at some of the many WDW information websites, and see what attractions are in the other parks .. which you think would best suit you and your daughter, what would you two enjoy doing, and decide from there. Alternately, if you don't want to do a park, you could have an afternoon at the pool on day ... and the other half day, maybe go over to Downtown Disney and do a little shopping? There's a huge LEGO store there, as well as some other stores your child might like.
