where to stay with a 9 and 5 year old in the summer?

Having just come back from Florida we are itching to book something but i dont think we can afford Florida next year so thought we would head to Paris for a few nights instead. I fancy having a hotel with a pool as i have a disabled son and if he gets tired we can come back for a swim and a rest although i am guessing end of July it will be manic? The theming is so boring, Disney hotels with no reference to Disney
Not been for awhile so could do with some advice/tips ... looking at summer holidays x

If you want Disney theming and a pool then your only real option is Disneyland Hotel, but that is pretty expensive. Hotel New York has a great pool but has almost no Disney theming, same with Sequoia Lodge and Newport Bay, though the pool is better at Hotel New York.

Hotel Santa Fe has been recently themed to Cars if they like those characters, but there is no pool.

That was what i thought too, we are thinking of going for 4 nights and thought we may be glad of the pool especially in the summer months. Disney hotel is out i think, i would prefer to have the spending money

Sequoia lodge has small Disney theming its bambi. The pool there is nice and has adjoining out door pool if the weather is really nice.

The new port bay are currently returning their rooms with nautical mickey rooms not much chance of getting one though as I think there are only very few complete.

Hotel New York is great we stayed there in match didn't use the pools as didn't have time but the quick walk was nice.

Be aware that the HNY pool is 5ft deep everywhere - no shallower parts and no children's pool.

I didn't know that. That's not good. What about the outdoor pool if you were lucky enough to use it? Is that the same? X

The Explorers pool is a lot more fun than any of the Disney ones - the hotel is far more geared to kids than the onsites but it would mean you'd be relying on the shuttle buses and they can be rather manic at busy times.

I have just looked at this and i didnt realise Disney offers related to this hotel too ... Looks a great option for us and we have to use the shuttle with the little man anyway. My step son who is 15 has decided he might come with us after all and this hotel also has bigger rooms

I'm not saying booking with Disney won't ever be cheaper but as a rule of thumb it's usually better value to book with someone else ie the Explorers own site, Benotel, Alpharooms, Expedia, Travel Republic to name a few and then either buy park tickets or annual passes.
