Sorry! I know this has been asked before but search is off. Where should I stay the nite before my 7/10/2004 cruise? Somewhere near the airport or should I stay new the port? Any hotels near the port offer shuttles to/from the airport, any hotels to avoid near the port? I know there is 2 amerisuites near the airport, is one better then the other? Thoughts on the Hyatt at the airport?

I stay at my parents...but that won't help you ! Most people seem to stay at the Radisson at the port. That way no long bus ride the morning of the cruise!:sunny:

Just booked our airfare for our March 20 cruise....woo hoo! But since we are flying on Alaska , to get even a chance at a less than sky high fare, we fly home Sunday morning. Where might suggestions be for that overnight? Or could I just take my chances just as well with Hotwire?

We were VERY pleased with our stay at the Orlando Airport Hyatt. We traveled with small children, which made for a very tiring flight. I had a porter walk our luggage to the hotel while I sent the rest of my family to get some lunch.

I walked back to meet them in the airport. We thought we would go to Downtown Disney, or something else for the rest of the day. But there was an entire mall in the airport, plus a swimming pool at the hotel.

When we were done with that, I took the boys for a moving sidewalk excursion all over the airport. (My four year-old ranked it right up there with the cruise itself.)

Then we ate at Chili's, where there was NO wait on a Friday night. We never left the airport.

The transfer to the port was extremely painless, and we were in the front third or so of the line. Plenty of time for reservations, etc. Will DEFINITELY use this hotel again.

We used Priceling before our cruise on 10/2, because our flight landed at 10:30. We got the Airport Marriott for $27, $35.50 with tax. It was very close to the airport and to the Beeline. We had a rental car, but there is also a shuttle. I have also stayed at WDW following a flight, just to get a taste of the world prior to cruising, but after our Priceline experience, I think I'll stick with them.

We too use Priceline and typically get the MCO Marriott for anywhere from $25 to $28. Only rarely have we ever paid more. Just be sure to select the highest star level or you could end up at the slum La Quinta (NOT the La Quinta Suites...the other one). At the highest star level, we're gotten the marriott, Renaissance, and the Holiday Inn Select, and all have been very nice. We have Happy Limo take us to the port the next day, but if you were taking the bus, you could take the shuttle back.

even though we fly in at 10pm the night before we sail, I still stay at Radisson at the Port, as one never knows what could transpire the next day between you in Orlando, and the ship. I would never fly in the day of the sailing unless I had no other choice, and taking it one step farther, I want to get to the port the night before also, as we always seem to have Murphy's law at work with us. We will not have to hurry around so much and can leisurely get on the ship on time this way. Call the 800 number for them and ASK for their best rate. If you don't ask, you don't get. Last time I stayed there I ended up changing my rate a couple of times, as the rate changed and they will honor the lower rate if you just ask.

Have fun!

I'll look into pricing through Priceline. I already ran it through Hotwire, and the 4-stars were $54....so I'll try to name my own price.

Thanks.

Start low on priceline and ignore it if you get a message that you are bidding too low (as long as you are around $25 to $28). Just remember that you cannot bid again for 3 days if you lose, unless you use another charge card and email address to set up another account.
We're gotten the Amerisuites via Hotwire for $33. You can tell which one it is by the amenities, but it's not always that cheap.

I wanted mine to be refundable so I used the 800 number and paid 89 a night and online it is 85. Unless it has changed alot in the last year and a half, it was a great place to stay!

Our train gets in at noon on the 5th, and we're staying at CBR for one night. It's so wonderful there I wish we had more time.

In any case, we're going directly from the hotel at check in to MGM to ride the Tower of Terror and the Rockin Roller Coaster until we collapse or barf or collapse from barfing. Tiffany Town Car is picking us up the next morning for the cruise. I LOVE my birthday this year!!!!!!!!!!:Pinkbounc :bounce:
