We will be sailing out of Miami for the first time!! Does anybody have any great hotels to recommend? We will be staying for two days pre-cruise and we are a party of mom and dad, 2 college age children and high schooler. Thanks for your help!!!

Following - we hope to cruise out of Miami next year and want to fly in the night before - some friends of ours flew out of MN this winter the morning of the cruise, had inevitable weather delays, and missed the first few days! :-(

The 2 times we have sailed out of Miami we stayed at Holiday Inn Port of Miami which is right across from the Bayside Marketplace. Also in that general area you have the Intercontinental, JW Marriott Marquis and others. We only stayed the day before our cruise both times. If we were staying multiple days before our cruise I would look for someplace on South Beach

I think we stayed at the Hilton near the airport. I don't recommend it. Terrible food, bad service, room service trays left in halls, and room didn't feel clean.

We stayed at a Homewood Suites last year that had just opened. Beautiful hotel, great breakfast but the location was not the greatest.

I love hanging out in Miami Beach, but if you want Miami proper, I really loved the Hampton Inn Blue Lagoon. Super nice with some places to eat in walking distance - and I think they had a shuttle (nominal fee) to an area mall. They offer a shuttle to the port at 3 different times for $10/person.

Hello! We stayed at La Quinta East in Miami. They have a free shuttle that runs between the hotel and the airport so you don't have to pay for transportation from the airport to the hotel. They also run a shuttle to the cruise port that is 10 dollars a person and they have multiple times you can choose from. The same shuttle will also pick you up from the cruise port and take you back to the airport at the end of your cruise. We thought the entire experience was very convenient and will be staying there again before our upcoming cruise in December.

We stayed at Hampton Inn and Suites in Brickell for two nights before our cruise in March. Highly recommended. Free breakfast, pool and hot tub, close to restaurants, metromover and metrorail and in a nice safe area. What's not to like? Shuttle to port cost $8 per person but taxi/uber was cheaper for our party of 4. Only downside - it's not on the beach.

Do any of these hotels offer park for free while you are on the cruise?

We just booked the Holiday Inn Port of Miami for our January cruise. Our goals were to stay near the port where there was food and stuff to do within walking distance and the Bayside Market is just across the street. I had considered the Intercontinental but when I went to check prices it showed no availability. So I would say if you stay near the port book early! There is no shuttle from airport or to port but we decided we would rather arrange our own transportation and stay in that area than have shuttles but be further away or not have nearby food and entertainment.

We stayed at YVE. It's a boutique hotel and they have a special cruise package that includes breakfast ( a great buffet) and transportation to the Port of Miami. They are right across from the Bayside Marketplace that has everything from restaurants to stores to entertainment on the water. And we could see the port and the Disney Wonder. Also across the street is a 24 hour CVS for last minute items. We had a wonderful room on the top floor overlooking the water. I think it was around $200 for the package deal. We loved being across from the Bayside Market. Lots of fun places to check out.

We stayed at the Homewood Suites Blue Lagoon Airport in a 2 bedroom suite (2 queens in one room, king in the other plus sofa bed in living room), It worked out great. They had a free airport shuttle and an Uber XL was $30 to the port. They have an amazing breakfast spread as well as a "heavy apps" happy hour each night included in the stay...and free parking and free internet. We picked up a rental car at the Marriott next door to go to the Everglades and Keys.

This is the one we chose!!! Thanks!!!

What can you recommend for Miami Beach? We are going down 2 days prior to the cruise, just DH and I

Given that this will be our first Disney Cruise and first time to Miami (in January when we sail), I can't confirm whether it's a great place or not, but we opted for Comfort Suites Miami Airport North. It offered a lot of what we were looking for: Complementary shuttle to/from the airport and TO the port of Miami; free continental breakfast; free wifi; AAA discount; and was reasonably priced for a family of 4 for just the night before the cruise. Good luck and have fun! :)

I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Faena - it's in Middle Beach so out of the main drag (noise and...other stuff) of South Beach, but it's an easy walk along the oceanside path, there is some kind of trolley, or Lyft is pretty cheap to get to South Beach.

Definitely recommend Larios on the Beach for a fantastic lunch or dinner.

We just saled out of Miami in June and we stayed at The Savoy Hotel in Miami Beach! It was great! It is an older hotel with so much character and sits directly on South Beach! Great restaurants within walking distance and an awesome pool! We loved it!!

For our cruise last year, I checked on several hotels that offered a stay/park/cruise package in Miami. None of them were ideal. For $25.00 more, we stayed in Orlando the day before the cruise, drove our car to POM, and parked at the port. It was nice, after the cruise, to be able to just walk out of the terminal and get in our own car for the drive home.
:)

Comfort Suites Miami Airport North gets mentioned often and has a free shuttle to the port
