Where to Stay Overnight in Valdosta?

We will be driving our next trip to Disney, and the plan is to drive from Indiana to Valdosta GA on the first day. We're trying to decide where to spend the night. While we don't want to spend a fortune, we'd like a place that is clean, comfortable, and will let us get a good night's sleep so we are refreshed and ready for our first day at Disney the next morning.

We are considering the following, all right off I-75 I believe: Comfort Inn & Suites, La Quinta, Holiday Inn, and Best Western. Honestly, just looking at Trip Advisor I have to say it is a toss-up between Best Western and La Quinta for me.

If anyone has stayed at any of these, would you recommend them? And what time do they start serving the breakfast? That information isn't on the websites. We'd want an early start...

Thanks! I'm sure I'll have more questions as we get closer to next June.

I hope someone who can tell you firsthand is able to reply.. without that here's another way to check reviews. Use Google Maps to zoom into the area, then in the search bar type "hotels" amd search again.

Now look at the places in the left menu bar. There are additional review sources other than Tripadvisor, and Zagat reviews. La Quinta gets an unusually high Zagat score for a budget chain. That's a good sign to me.

Generally, if reviews are favorable and price is good I go with it. Breakfast timing is hard... you really should call the hotel's direct number to get a reliable start time. And in my experience if they say 6:30am then they are setting up at 6:30 and it takes 10 or 15 minutes for everything to be out!
But reviews often tell you what kind of food and how good it is.

I have not stayed at any yet, but I anticipate that we will be ready to break from our drive from WI about the time that we hit Valdosta. I made a reservation at the Comfort Suites. I limited by search to Choice Hotels due to a company discount we get at these, and the Comfort looked to be the best of my options.

I can let you know in a couple weeks how it was. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the replies - I'll have to check out those other reviews, and I definitely want to hear about the Comfort Suites since it is probably #1 on the list for my DH. I know we have over 9 months before we are going, but I tend to get an early start making plans.

Okay, I promised a review.

Very nice. The hotel is so easy to access from the highway. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean, spacious, and look like they do in the photos. We booked online with a special requests, and the requests were honored. Kids enjoyed the pool, and I enjoyed the Starbucks across the road. :thumbsup2

We are very happy with the decision to stay here.

Last November when we drove down (from IN too) and we stopped in Valdosta, GA and stayed at a Sleep Inn. It was close to the interstate and was very nice. We will be going again next June, but I'm not sure if we're driving or flying yet. This trip will be girls only so not sure if I want to drive 16 hours without DH with me. But if we do drive and can make it to Valdosta then I would stay at the Sleep Inn again. When we stayed we had no problem eating an early breakfast before leaving for Disney. I think they started serving breakfast around 6am, but I'm not 100% sure. I would guess most hotels probably start around that time.
